Just a thought. I know the first response will be he didn't have surgery for no reason. My reply would be who says he really had surgery? 1. The fact that it came out of nowhere in the middle of the offseason and not the beginning was strange. 2. He sure hasn't been acting like someone recovering from hip surgery. Like I said, just a thought.

If the league suspends a player it's made public... it's not something someone can cover up.

I just wonder if the league wanted the bullying thing to just go away. Could be 100% wrong, just seems plausible.

Pouncey is such a well known, loved, & highly valued player that sheningans had to take place. Otherwise, Western Civilization would have been rocked to its very foundation?

Color me a bit skeptical...

Mike Pouncey was named frequently in the Wells report.

He was told to undergo psychological counseling before he could return to the team, and his suspension was to be determined before the season.

He balked at undergoing counseling. And then got injured. I have no doubt he was actually injured, but the fact that the injury would cause him to miss 4 games seemed suspicious. That was about the amount he was expected to be suspended, if he was at all.

Then, the NFL quietly announced there would be no suspension which made me scratch my head. Coincidence?

And now there's a report that it will take longer to recover than previously thought, and he'll probably miss 8 games.

It may be that this is so. But it sure is convenient, and would certainly overlap with any suspension he may have faced.

I'll go this route: funny how karma works....

There was another thread that like this that was saying this too. Someone pointed out in there though that the NFL makes all its suspensions public. So I don't really buy it. I did look up the recovery time for his type of surgery and it fits the time frame. That being said he sure isn't helping the process along by being out and acting like a fool.

NO! Pouncey took a shot across the bow at the NFL. Psychological report was an extremely cynical maneuver by the NFL. It said that the league did not feel like it had enough to level a suspension against Pouncey on it's own merit. Realistically the NFL had nothing ever. Why? It's because in the long history of the NFL what happened to Martin was at best a grain of sand on a beach - and at worst - nothing compared to the real rats nest of hazing that has occurred over the decades in the NFL. The league had to weigh out scapegoating the Dolphin players more vs counter suits that exposed stories that likely would have done much damage to the league if they let the proverbial cat out of the bag.

The psychological was designed to destroy Pouncey's character in sinister, cynical move by a group of greedy, cowardly front office executives who make boat loads of money off of many guys who are born poor, or blue collar - whose only chance in life to move up is the NFL. Pouncey outmaneuvered them for now. He was smart and made it public and told them NO its a sham.

Other then that - he had a torn labrium?? in his hip I think. From what I understand it takes a while to recover from that - and its unlikely we will see him this season.

Goodell has never shied away from discipline; not sure why he would start now or with Pouncey.
