he started his first year at ND, now he could come here with very little comp. i would think he would easily handle cleo.

could it be that cam feels quinn could start right off the bat, and that is why we havent gotten green yet? maybe we only go after green if we get a qb in the 2nd round. why give up a decent pick if they feel quinn would be ready.

now i dont know how i feel about letting a rookie start right away, but it would save us a pick. not all qbs need to sit for a year.

There isn't a player in this draft that is more ready to play than Brady Quinn. So to answer your question, yes. But I still think the best way to handle a QB is to take the Carson Palmer route. Let Trent Green bridge him into 2008 (assuming we land him of course.)

I think he could, but I wouldn't want him to unless he completely was the best QB in TC. I don't think he would beat out Cleo . . . simply because Cleo has been in the system and has experience . . .tho I'm sure if it came down to Quinn and Cleo . . . Cleo would have the shortest leash ever made for an NFL QB.

I agree. I think he'd be better served to learn behind Trent for a year or two, but if Quinn was thrown into the fire I think he could handle as well as most rookie QBs do.

I dont' think he is. Unless your name is Peyton your not gonna have high success rate with first year qb's. yes it has happened with success...Vince young, but for most qb's who have talent, just don't think its the wise risk to take

Why dont we worry about getting him first and then start the rumos that he will be starting opening day???

with are defense he could start and wouldnt have to win the games all by himself. if hes as smart as they say and he can pick up the offense, then why not go with him right off the bat. how much can you learn sitting on the bench? sooner or later hes gonna play. it doesnt matter who starts weither its green or cloe they will be looking over there shoulder. and the fans are going to want to see there future qb. so why waste a 4-5 round pick on green?

now if we dont land quinn then i would love to see green come here. i think he will be a huge plus to our offense and he will be a great bridge to the next qb.

I don't think Brady would have anything like a Joey Harrington result. If he comes here he will do better sooner than he would if he went to Cleveland IMO. I would be pretty excited if he beat out Trent Green for the starting spot because I think Cam would have to be absolutely 100% convinced he's ready before he throws him into the fire.

That's exactly how I feel. Our defense will be responsible for the majority of our wins any how and I think he could be a lot like Phillip Rivers last year. Limit mistakes and make a few big throws here and there and just let the defense and the running game win the games for us.

Good question. It's pretty rare for one to start as a rookie, but it can be done. Ideally, you want your shiny new 1st round QB to sit their first year behind a veteran and learn before being thrown in the fire. It all depends on the circumstances with the team he ends up with. Vince Young started because McNair was gone and they didn't have anyone else really, Leinart did because Kurt Warner had a couple of terrible games, and Cutler started later in the season because Plummer wasn't getting it done. Plummer's attitude didn't help him much either. Vince Young did much better as a rookie than I thought he would. He definitely proved me wrong. He might be very hard to stop this year. He has a great OC and HC with the Titans, so he'll do fine. I like his new Madden '08 commercial where he mentions that he won Rookie of the Year. :D

If we draft him he will back up Green.

but would it be wise to give up a 4th for green, if cam feels that brady would be ready? if we start off slow and green isnt lighting it up, then we would end up going to quinn anyway.

i really do like the idea of getting green, just not sure if we need him if we get quinn.

Green is not worth a 4th rounder. If he was the deal would be done. Peterson is an A**HOLE. Make him wait till June and we'll have him for nothing.
