Edited: Sorry for the Title. Many have expressed it is misleading and I can understand looking at it now. My apologies.

Looks like Satele is done as a center. In his defense I like that he didn't start grumbling and complaining about the idea of not being a center. I don't remember the exact interview that i read but i remember him saying that he didn't care what position he played as long as it was helping the team he would do it. Class act and great teamate and seems to be hard working. I'd like to see Satele stick around he can be a pretty good pulling gaurd IMO. He is good in space. Check out some of those reverses and sweep we run and u'll see him there knocking someone over almost every time. Hard worker and smart player. I dont see us getting rid of him but hes done at center.

OH and I would LOVE to pick up Jason Brown...This guy will be a solid anchor to our line. The guy is HUGE (6-3, 320 lbs., 25 years old). Him and Jake could solidify the O-line for a good 8+ years. The Ravens have a VERY good O-line and that starts with the center.

The thread title is misleading based on rumors and media speculation. While I wouldn't doubt the Trifecta is looking to upgrade the center position to a more physical type of player, to say Satele is done at center is still a question mark at this time.

BTW, this rumor was taken from the Miami Herald article, "Large free agent pool available to Miami Dolphins" which was already posted here at FinHeaven.

Ravens have alot on their plate. having to resign all their good LB's and Jason. but i think one of two will happen.

first, they dont forget they have a rookie QB heading into his second year and resign Brown and scott and/or lewis slips by without being resigned and maybe we can pick one of them up.

or

they focus too much on their defense and wont be able to resign Brown because of the money spent on suggs, lewis, and scott.

both of these situations could end good for us. we possibly might aquire a franchise center or a stout linebacker. both of which is needed. so i am extremely happy reading this. hopefully we can land one of those 4 players named above.

hopefully not Lewis...yes he's a great LB,but he's also nearing the end of his HOF career, and we're trying to get youth on our team...plus he could possibly want money that we may not be willing to spend on him...

I say Lewis is out of the question for us. too old. But I expect him to be a FA though.

The way the NFL has been heading recently, team loyalty to long time players has been slowly dwindling. Much like what we did with JT and ZT. Much the way the Packers shunned Brett Favre the 2nd time around. Much the way Tom Brady may be replaced with the younger Matt Cassel. It is a growing trend of unloyalty to franchise players when they get old. I think the Ravens may dump Ray Lewis and look to resign the younger players first. If they finally get to Lewis and the money isn't there... he won't be either.

I don't want Lewis, I want the other 3 though... all of them.

Ill pass any raven LB not named Suggs although that would require trading Porter.

They didn't shun him, he told them he retired and they moved along accordingly. You cant quit the team, wait till after the draft, and then tell them you changed your mind. Favre did his best to screw over Green Bay, and in the end, he got what he deserved. He is a drama queen, and Green Bay showed him that the team does not revolve around him. **** Brett Favre. I hope I dont get another warning for this, but **** rhymes with luck.

Satele is only entering his 3rd yr. It's way too soon to be replacing him. He had a very good rookie season, followed, by a sophomore slump.
Too many other needs on this team before considering an overhaul of the C position. The guy still has upside.
You don't need to be 320 lbs to be a center. The best centers usually run in the 295-305 range.
