Just something that popped into my head as I was watching one of the multitudes of ESPN NFL shows the other day and they were discussing how the Raiders were looking for ANY excuse to draft Calvin Johnson (which I believe the majority of us think they want to, IF they can get a QB). C. Pep has said in Miami Herald articles that he had been running 110's, but the medical staff told him to slow down. So in theory he should be healed by the time training camp rolls around (also hence for the low pick so Oak isn't risking too much) - and he's reunited with Moss another possible barganing chip to give Oakland.
Next I'm also sure that at least 90% of want Quinn to fall to 5 or 6 so we don't have to give up the farm to get him.
What if we were to trade C. Pep to Oakland for a low (perhaps even with us losing out in the value end of it, or maybe make it a conditional type - playing time etc..) pick this year. That would allow Oak to draft CJ, again this doesn't 100% guarantee Quinn falling to 5-6 but as we are all coming to grips with is that if the current status of the draft goes, cleveland will grab quinn.
This way perhaps Russell goes to Cleveland , Thomas or Adams to Detroit, and perhaps Thomas or Peterson go to Tampa
any thoughts?
