Saw this on Armando Salguero's blog at the Miami Herald:

It is true the Dallas Cowboys are mildly, and I do stress mildly, interested in quarterback John Beck. The Cowboys have winked, hand-signaled, called or e-mailed the Dolphins (however it is they do it) that they would be willing to part with a low-round draft pick for the second-year player.

Obviously, Beck remains on the Dolphins so nothing has actually materialized on that front.

Stay tuned, however, as Beck and Josh McCown continue to get minimal work in practice.

So, would you take a 6th or 7th round pick for John Beck?
 
I would rather have Bobby Carpenter, but a sixth or seventh round draft pick is okay by me. The more draft picks, the better.
 
If they don't have use for him then I don't see why they wouldn't trade him. Maybe they are waiting for some injuries to drive his value up.

incase some of you dont know,Becks trading value is worth less than having a remote but no T.V.....

at this point,were not in ANY standpoint to choose what we get...so I woudl imagine if we wanted a 6th and got offered a 7th,Parcells would still take it.

Cause you better understand that Parcells doesnt want to cut McCown,because he woudl have to give him $2.5M,and since we have to pay him that much money anyway,Sparano might as well keep him til his two years are up,cause not only is that a waste in money,but it also questions Sparano's decision making.

the Niners have this kid Josh Morgan.

he was taken in the 6th and I guarantee he is better than anything we have
 
If we can get a 6th or 7th pick for him, I say take it. But I think Parcells might be waiting to see if any injuries happen to drive up the asking price for Beck.
 
I say take what you can get for him. The sooner hes in Dallas the sooner he will be back in Miami putting up 4 TD's on us. That is generally what happens to Miami cast offs.

not only that,but people who want Beck to stay arent seeing the issue.If we keep Beck(and we pretty much know Henne is our guy,at least more than Beck is),then we have to take MUCH NEEDED snaps away from Henne and Pennington,and give it to a guy thats NOT EVEN GOING TO PLAY.

another thing is that it holds back progess,cause Henne and Pennington are comnig into their own on this team,while Beck is still lost.If we allow Beck to hang back this team,and try make it worse(the story of this franchise the last 8 years),were killing our future and the process.

Parcells...please just trade Beck for some chewing gum...the taste will probably last longer than Beck will last in the NFL....
 
How does Armando know what the practice reps are looking like considering he's not allowed to watch practice?
