Add another one to the list. 6-5, 320...27 years old.

He was quite the up-and-comer in his first three years with the Jets. And the Texans went hard after him in the expansion draft. One year later he's a Cowboy. And now he's a FA.

What's the deal with this guy?? Is he just injury prone now?? Or has his play fallen that far off??

First of all he's a right tackle, not a guard. He had a groin injury that kept him out 8 games plus a knee injury that caused him to miss a couple more games in his year with Houston and missed a couple games with a knee injury with Dallas last year. Parcells originally drafted him with the Jets and signed him in Dallas to a 3 year deal so it is surprising he'd let him go, unless his knee problem is chronic.

Parcells moved him to guard down the stretch. He finished second string behind Andre Gurode.

Yeah but Ryan Young was a good RT for the Jets and they really didn't want to lose him. The Texans bargained with the Jets over it, said that the only way they will take both their overpaid, deadweight-laden corners off their hands (Aaron Glenn and the other dude Marcus somethin) was if the Jets made Ryan Young available to them in the expansion draft too. The Jets were desperate to get that dead money off their hands because it could have handicapped them for years (see Madison, Sam...see Gardener, Daryl) so they agreed with the Texans demand.

It was surprising to me that Young has been such a disappointment since then. That kind of thing is hard to forget though...if we signed him I would hope it would just be for tackle and guard depth.
