Cowboys release LB Greg Ellis

I foresee at least a 4-thread merger in the near future which then will be wrapped up nice and tidy-like for shipping to "General NFL" section

yeah, but hey it might help get through this painful offseason, filled with threads of all nature (not pleasing ones, i might add ! )

debate people ! entertain me ! lol

My gut tells me NO but I wouldn't be shocked either.
Is Ellis an upgrade over Roth? I say yes.
BUT we would be taking a step back in the YOUTH department.
Not sure what to think here.

you can't ignore:

1- FH talking regularly about the guy
2- the fact that he played for parcells a long time
3- he will come in cheap probably
4- we have a boatload of OLBs, but we only have two proven ones, and one of them will be a situational pass rusher

i don't think he'll end up being a dolphin though... the direction we're heading in seems pretty clear: aquire young talented players who are hungry (either because they have a chip on their shoulder, or they are in a contract year... ever wonder why we didn't resign bell, carey crowder right away ? and why we don't resign ronnie now ? we jsut signed Green who had his worst season and wants another shot ? Ernest wilford also had something to prove, but yeah he failed lol , etc .... anyways, it's no coincidence in my mind)

From todays reports OTA the indication Sporano was happy with Roth. We have with Porter and Taylor all the experience that we should need now we need the youth to blend in and take over when those guys retire. We have a couple of years to look around. I would way last year yes this year no.
