The Cowboys and LT Flozell Adams are reportedly far apart on a new contract.

Dallas is offering a three-year deal, but Adams believes he can get a better deal elsewhere. He's probably right. At the very least, he can raise Jerry Jones' price ala Jason Garrett.

Adams probably has already been offered a contract by us, that is why he knows he cant get more.I think Jones knows Sparano, Ireland and Parcells are gonna be all over Flozell when FA begins. I expect us to go after all of Dallas FA.

We definitely need to sign some oline help with the release of Shelton and not resigning Hadnot. Adams and Fanaca are two guys we should go strong after.

Though with it appearing Fanaca is probably New York bound to join the Jets, we have to go extra hard after Adams if he on the market come Friday.

i cant imagine how this could be any concern to us, this team got rid of Booker/Shelton/Thomas, which means they are serious about getting younger.
so why sign Adams? (or Faneca, or Thomas). i certainly wont be UPSET if we sign him, he WOULD make a good addition to this OL, and give us the OT we need.....but it just seems like we are cleaning up and getting rid of older guys

There is a big difference between getting rid of guys who are not very good, old and/or a injury risk and signing a guy who may be old, but still playing at a Pro Bowl level.

Quick and easy answer for your question - it's nearly as hard to find a damn good LT to protect a QB as it is to find the QB.

Ok yes he is old.. and yes we are trying to develop our younger players... But we NEED a vet LT now so we can develop John Beck if thats where big tuna decides to go... he needs protection.. beck will be a bust if never has a chance to throw the ball.. and also our younger recievers will benifiet if our qb plays well so ginn will progress as well... so again we need CERTAIN vets to help delevop the younger players

I totally indeed.
It would make absolutely no sense, if we isn't trying to get one of the biggest G names in NFL, specially in mind that Parcells loves to bring back "old" guys to his present team, which he had worked with previous in his career. So I also expected us to be very aggressive in the beginning of FA Friday. At Least whats regards O-line...

Can't wait to order a new The hotel jersey ;).

i hope they resign him so there is no possibility of him coming here. rebuilding does not entail releasing 34 year old thomas then signing 33 year old adams. younger. been saying it for a while and i see it is almost starting to catch on. we should have just traded thomas for adams if that was the situation. clown shoes.
