Cowher respects Harrington and Dolphins
:Cowher respects Harrington and Dolphins
Although Daunte Culpepper is making amazing progress on his rehabilitation of his reconstructed right knee and is drawing rave reviews from his teammates regarding his play at this week's organized team activities, Steelers coach Bill Cowher won't be caught napping if Joey Harrington is the Dolphins starter against his Super Bowl champs in the season opener on Sept. 7.
"Joey's going to be the only guy probably in history that's played back to back games against us at Heinz Field,' Cowher told ESPN-760 (AM) Thursday. "His last game with the Lions was at Heinz Field, and if he opens up his next game will be there against us. He played very well, and I was very impressed with him. He's a good
quarterback."
Harrington was 17 of 33 for 212 yards with three touchdown passes and no interceptions in a season-ending 35-21 loss to the surging Steelers, who then ran out the string on the way to a Super Bowl title.
Cowher is also impressed with Dolphins coach Nick Saban and his improving team.
"I think Nick Saban is an outstanding coach. I've always thought Nick was good when we coached against him when he was in Cleveland with [Bill] Belichick, and certainly what he did at LSU,'' Cowher said. "[His] players have bought into his system. Nick's going to do things his way.
"They're very sound in what they do. They've got a great running back in Ronnie Brown. We're going to have our hands full. This is a good football team that helped themselves a lot this offseason, so it should be a great opening game.
"They're the team of any that didn't make the playoffs that might have been the hottest team in
