As FH is far and away the most robust, heavily-trafficked representation of active, not passive Fins fans, I respectfully remind everyone of the sentiment expressed in the following 2 polls as it relates to Fisher becoming our HC. In one, only 4 out of 5 of us actually favor someone other than Fisher if all things being equal; in the other 2 out of every 3 of us wouldn't have cared much either way, would have been relieved or as happy as Fatso in Gonzo's podiatrist's office.

Before giving in to emotional sensationalism on the part of the media or some of our more vocal minority of members many with an already expressed particular axe to grind or agenda against Ross, please keep in mind that this worked out well for the majority of us, and presumably the majority of fins fans we reflect. And this was even prior to any inkling that a mediocre coach who wasn't smart enough to free himself from the shackles of a meddling, cheap owner when contract renewal rolled around was demanding veto power. Imagine how the result would have skewed with this knowledge.

I really hope that I'm wrong about this, but 3 years from now missing out on Fisher could be right up there w/ missing out on Brees... I hope not but it's possible.

No, Fisher's QB equal would not be a record setting MVP candidate. Set the bar lower.
Maybe he's on par with Tony Romo...but without checking Romo may win at a better clip.

LOL! Wrong! That means that the Rams will win a Super Bow in 4 yearsl. LMAO. You watch a lot of soap operas?

how successful fish is in s louis likely largely depends on how successful sam bradford is at becoming a franchise qb at least in the short term...as for polls i have no use for them but i have found that when it comes to sports and football message boards if you're going against the grain you're probably right

Therefore I bow down to you! LOL. Bradford will continue to struggle until the pieces are put in place around him. And they are a long way from that. Jackson is the only 1. No D, No WR, No OL. Bradford's lack of development will again place the emphasis of a team around a frachise (#1 pick lol) QB. Side note. Being on the negative end of polls is by far the odds on favorite in every poll. Congratulations on playing the odds!

I wasn't a big booster of Fisher, but I just worry that this makes the job even less attractive to other potential applicants. I also worry that we wind up hiring Jim Haslett.

But as for Fisher, good luck to him in St. Louis. I'm not losing any sleep over that guy.

what part of i have no use for polls did you not get...i don't vote in them

I didn't care that Cowher stayed out, so that already puts me in the minority opinion. We'll survive losing Fisher. Not sure how many more wins he'd get for us over the next four years than Marty, and I'm not even advocating that. Same with Billick and the rest. The track record of these guys coming back to the game is poor.

Bring in some new interviews next week and pick the best combination of balls & brains. If it blows up in our face, buy him out in 3 years and do it again.

I'm still waiting for the next time a "Once upon a time" coach, comes back and is successful. I have seen the lead-in for it a couple dozen times, never seen it turn out good for any team.

Somebody new and hungry with logic that is slightly different than Status Quo is exactly what we need.
