I posted about this in a reply to another thread but found Ryan's actual quote about not challenging the possible fumble by us.

In his press conference Rhino Rex chose to throw his coaching staff under the bus (something Sparano would never do) regarding the decision not to challenge it....here's what he said:

"On his decision not to challenge the Miami fumble that Darrelle Revis appeared to have...

They're not going to reverse it, No. 1. And I know Darrelle thought he had the ball, but we thought that the tight end had the ball. Whether they both had it or whatever, that was why. I was told from up top. Those guys saw the thing, the replays and all that kind of stuff, and they were adamant about we're not going to win this one. So that's why I never threw the flag. "

Hee...heee.....way to go down with the ship there Capt. Cryan.....I'm sure they appreciate being blamed publicly for the screw up and I'm sure things will be nice & cozy with the coaching staff going into the bye week.

And I love how Know It All Rextard was so defiant that "They're not going to reverse it, No.1".....way to keep an open mind on a huge, definite game changing play that probably WOULD have been reversed!

Mark down Sunday 11/1 as the date the JEST organization started crumbling like a cheap house of cards!!!!

Just not a leader whatsoever.... rode the tails of having great athletes on a great D for years, and gets a HC gig... I'm glad he landed in NY, hopefully they'll keep this jerk around for awhile.... it's fun to beat somebody and still listen to their $hit and they don't even realize how ****n stupid they look.... Good Job rex keep it up....

Exactly.......the only problem is he is going to flame out and be gone as the HC when the JEST crash.

I say it's a problem because I'd love to have him stick around.....he so easy to make fun of and is a huge (actually, impossible to miss, haha) target for deserved criticism.

I was thinking the same thing when i heard him say it. Im paraphrasing but didnt he say he was going to throw the red flag but was told from on high that it wasnt a fumble

Man wont take accountability for anything

Hope he stays the jests coach for a long long time

Unfortunately they will run him out of town once his loud mouth act gets stale and he continues to lose

The Jets ownership isn't the brightest bulb in the lot. They will keep lard *** for another season. And that's great news for us...

What he said in his post-game conference was that he was told by his people that it didn't matter because our Tight End (Joey Haynos) recovered it and it never would have been overruled.

Personally, I think they were right...so it's not a big deal. Sure, the refs blew the call. But it didn't matter because we recovered the ball anyway. Just like the botched snap by Sanchez didn't matter because the Jets ended up somehow coming out of the dogpile with it.

If we can get Belicheat out there, we'll be sitting pretty with Ryan and Jauron already in the division.

It's somewhat controversial. Haynos and Revis both had it, I believe, but the Jets people thought that Haynos would have been called as having recovered the ball. Revis thinks he would have been called as having it. I think the refs would have awarded it Dolphins ball.

i just think it's funny that you guys are happy that ryan is in ny installing a shutdown defense.

Ryan says a lot of stupid (obnoxious) things, I agree, but this isn't one of them. Complaining about this is just grasping for straws in my opinion. Of course a coach is going to look to the guys watching the replay for advice. What's he going to say? That he didn't get their opinions? Yeah, that'll go over real well.

shutdown defense :lol2: you did'nt shut our O down the 1st time....and the 2nd time we played.. your lucky..our O played horrible and made your D look better then it is:chuckle:

Love the pic. They didn't really fit ALL of him under that stone, though, did they? Sexy Rexy looks like he ate his dad, and that's saying something.

The Jets definitely had a shutdown defense this Sunday. They really shut it down when the game was on the line and they needed to prevent us from going on an 8 minute TD drive which essentially prevented the team from being able to come back from those STs and DEF scores. Great shutdown defense right there. :)
