I do like Drew, but I think Duante is the better player.

Even during a bad year (2005), he still was able to complete over 60% of his passes. That is huge!
He definitely has one of the strongest arms in the NFL.

i also want daunte more then brees he just has more upside, imo and if we somehow can make a deal for a 2nd rounder in 2007....lets do it !!!

But doesn't the fact that his knee was shredded of all 3 ligaments give you just a momentary pause to wonder if he can even run at this point?

Not a poke at you or anything like that, but remember the last quarterback we had that had a cannon for an arm and ran like he was in water? Just saying that worked out pretty good for Miami, maybe it will again.

you guys don't remember a QB by the name of Dan Marino...remember all the problems he had with his knees, achillis heel...basically, he had no wheels. But, boy, could he throw the ball.

Culpepper is young and he will recover...will he ever have the same mobility...probably not...but he does have an arm, and the last I checked, QB's are measured mainly by how many passes they complete, not by how they run.

Plus, I have seen so many posts about drafting the QB from Alabama...how about his knees ?

For now, IMO, Culpepper is a better option...

The Knee injury is not gunna hurt Culpepper that much. He was not a running QB. He could run, But he always looked to pass first. Besides that knee will get stronger and stronger with time and he has a stronger arm than Brees. He did have a bad year in 2005, But wow he had no WR's and horrible coachs and no running game.

It does not matter I will take either one and be happy I got a good QB.

Was he able to consistently complete over 60% of his passes...if so, I have no idea who you are talking about.

The gods of Finheaven should smite you down for even thinking of comparing Culpepper to Marino. You must be on some serious medication.

Culpepper is no phenom even when healthy. He is by no means a Hall of Fame passer.

Now the Vikings won't even let us do a medical exam on this guy before asking for a very high round draft pick. So what happens if Culpepper can't even run at this point, having lost 3 ligaments at one time? We would then still have an unresolved QB position AND lost a key drafting position to help us rebuild.

How this can sound logical to anyone defies logic to me. Stop being seduced by what Culpepper was, until you know what he currently is now.

He was comparing KNee problems and nothing else I don't see any thing bad in it. Besides if anyhting he has a point.

I think he was responding to Jquig, Superself, and was refering to Danny. May I recommend that you go look at the posts "Fineas" has made on the subject. His well spoken posts caused me to re-evaluate my QB view. He will add ammo to your argument.

[admin]Most of your post was removed because it was inflammatory, insulting and uneccessary[/admin]

Who is comparing anyone with Marino?...You obviously are not getting the point...

This is just my opinion.. so here it goes

Im not trying to say daunte sucks i think hes a good QB, but with the torn ligaments in his knee its risky, IMO i'd rather have a Mobile QB with a Injured Arm then a QB thats not mobile, that has a healthy arm lol, because that knee can get reinjured easily by being sacked, i mean take marino into consideration he also had knee problems (actually not just knee problems lol he was tapped together by the time he retiered.) but if you have to run and you get sacked that knee will get reinjured more easily then your arm.

I dont know thats just my opinion though, ill be really happy if we have brees, but if we get daunte then its still all good, i just think that brees is a perfect piece for our Offense, the style of his game play is perfect for us, thats one of the diffrences between these 2 QBS. Daunte can throw and run, Brees is a Classic Drop Back QB, and i think thats perfect for us.

But either way Were getting 1 hell of a QB, Daunte or Brees i like them both but right now im leaning towards Brees.
