I wanted to see exactly what Daunte's stats are when he had a 100 yd RB, and what I found out was very promising.

Culpepper has played with a RB that rushed for 100 yds only 21 times in his 80 career starts. It has only happened 7 times since the start of the 2003 season. In those games, Daunte Culpepper has thrown for 42 TD's and only 16 INT's. He averaged 242 passing yards (only 10 fewer than his career average), and most importantly, he had a record of 15-6 in those games.

Not surprisingly in 2000, the Vikings (w/Culpepper) had their best record in the last 7 years (11-5)when Robert Smith ran for over 1,500 yds. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/min2000.htm

In 2002, M.Bennett rushed for almost 1,300 yds but the Vikings were ranked 30th in points allowed (the worst in franchise history) and gave up 49 sacks...a big reason why they went 6-10. Four of Culpepper's six career losses w/ a 100 yd RB came that season. The Vikings gave up an average of 34 pts a game in those losses.

You'd have to believe that Ricky (if back) & Ronnie can muster some 100 yd games in the future which will really help D.C.

**EDIT**

As a follow up, my friend suggested that I research Drew Brees.

Brees has had a 100 yd RB in 24 of his 58 career starts...nice having Tomlinson, huh?

Brees had 28 TD's and 15 INT's and a record of 19-5.

P.S. Culpepper has a 23-36 (.390) record as a starter without a 100 yd RB. Brees has a 11-23 (.323) record as a starter without a 100 yd RB.

I think Ronnie can produce that many yards every game but I have yet to see it so I'll hold off on that for now but I think it would be wonderfull if DC can produce those kind of stats behind a 100 yard RB in a Miami uniform.

This makes me even more excited for next year. I really think we can have a top 5 offense easily if everything falls in the right place (big if). Like you said I think we have something Culpepper hasn't had in a while, a balanced offensive attack. We are stacked at all the skill positions, if our offensive line can take it to the next level, the skies the limit.

Exactly what i have been telling everyone in MN. Daunte didn't have a running game in MN, and still did well, image what he can do now with 8 guys in the box playing the run. It's gonna be great. I cant wait to rub it in my friends faces when he dominates. I hope. :)

I believe that sounds like Dan when we had a good running game - takes the pressure of the QB, less forced throws trying to make something happen. It just makes good sense.

Good research - means there's a possibility of a 12-4 season based on that stat alone.

Great Post. Also many Dolphin haters say Culpepper was only good because of Randy Moss. Chambers isn't much worse than Moss and Booker is better than any 2# WR Culpepper has ever had. With a better running back and WR core Culpepper might become even better.

Well a good running back and a good QB feed off each other. Last year Ronnie held out a few weeks so he was a little behind the learning curve, then he had to deal with the inconsistancies of Gus.

We can all agree that Ronnie is very capable of rushing for 80+ yards on his own each game.

PS - Great sig! Bellychuckles with the devil face is classic!

PSS (gladsadmad) - A+ research!

i say 150 evrygame especially now wiht DC and lets say no RW b/c the focus will be on DC and they can't 8 man in the box anymore as DC will tear them to shreds hopefully so its a win win situation that helps both sides of the ball out on RB and QB
