How do we know he will be the same quarterback- A quarterback that once decimated opposing defenses; Who once had the highest passer rating in the nfl; Who no other opposing defense could figure out. Culpepper is never going to be that same quarterback. The injury he suffered was so severe that it astonishes me that he is still able to use that leg. Over the past 2 years Culpepper has struggled immensely. Even before the horrific injury he suffered, Culpepper was not playing at the level he was used to. This year when he was our starting quarterback, we absolutely sucked. When Joey Harrington came in, we won games. Joey Harrington, a quarterback who was not good enough to play for Detroit, played better than Culpepper. That shows you just how bad Culpepper was for us this season.

I am not trying to say that Culpepper is a bad quarterback. All I am trying to say is that the injury Culpepper suffered from 2 years ago is preventing him from being a good quarterback. The chances of Culpepper being able to regain the same form as he used too are incredibly slim. That is why the dolphins need to address the quarterback position this offseason! We cannot assume anything from Culpepper next season. We did that this year and look at what happened to us. A major offseason priority should be to look for a backup quarterback who has the potential to be a good starting quarterback. Joey Harrington is an above average backup quarterback but he is definately not starting material. There is not a problem with having two starting calibur quarterbacks on the team look at the Dallas, Denver, Jacksonville, and Washington. All of those teams had backups quarterbacks that are now paying dividends as starting quarterbacks for there teams. We need to do the same if we want to become a winner next year in case Culpepper is not able to ever play football again or does not regain his old form.

give culpepper a year to be healthy before u decide that he won't cut it, we have invested a lot in him and it would be asinine to draft a QB high or trade for one again. he only played in four games this season and personally i think that joey harrington is a suitable back up for next season.

my money says you will have to do another "I'm sorry I was wrong" thread
I am simply stating that Culpepper had a horrific injury that many people are never able to recover from. This past year we assumed that he would be able to recover from it and he didnt. Why should we assume that he will be able to recover from the injury next year. I am absolutely sick of this team finishing below 500. If we are ever going to be winners again then we need to assume for the worse. If you cannot agree with that then I just cannot understand you.

Actually, that injury is now one that most people recover fully from. I've not heard a single medical professional say that he is unlikely to fully recover.

Another lousy thread IMO. First off, everyone knows that Culpepper was starting to play better before his injury. He had thrown 6 TDs to 2 INTs in a two or three game stretch before the injury. As for this year, it's clear that is statistics were superior to Harrington. Though he got sacked more, Harrington's INTs were just as devasting if not more (seeing as though the other team gains possession of the ball from one of Harrington's bonehead plays and not from a Culpepper sack). The truth of the matter is that every Phin fan better be hoping that Culpepper regains his most if not all of his mobility and his able to lead this team. Culpepper is familiar with our system, he has some familiarity with our receivers, and he's FAR MORE physically talented than Harrington. I almost fell out of my chair yesterday watching Culpepper play on NFLN. If you aren't excited about the prospect of having such a QB play for our Phins, you probably need to turn in your Dan Marino card right now.

This pretty much invalidates that entire mess.

You dont appear to have the good sense to actually research the injury before making statements like this, much less the knowledge to make the statement meaningful. Culpepper's injury isnt going to result in anyone being unable to walk, especially if they get medical treatment. Please, stop posting **** like this.

Still too early to say about his mobility....nobody has seen him move around lately? His arm is still amazing.... But that interception he threw against buffalo still makes me wonder...just a bad decision I guess. Looking forward to him next year

Here we go again, thread count on this topic number 132,461 and counting.

The reality of the situation is that we don't know if Culpepper is the answer or not. We also don't know if Harrington couldn't start to dominate or if Cleo Lemon is the next Romo. Plus we also don't know if a drafted quarterback would be that great.

However I do believe that Culpepper's knee will be fine next year and if Miami can improve the left side of the line then Miami should have a good enough running game to take some of the pressure off of Culpepper and enough pass protection to give him time to find the open receiver.

One thing I do know. I wish everyone a merry christmas.

We better pray to the football Gods he gets his career back on the right track !!!!!!!!!!!!
