The quarterback, who started four games in his first season with the Dolphins before being shut down, said he had spoken to Cameron "very briefly a couple of times, and he seems very sharp. I'm looking forward to working with him. He has a great offensive mind."

Culpepper said he wanted "to just show Cameron the type of player I am
."

I would like to take this opportunuty to ask you who do you think will be our starting QB at the start of next season ?

Umm no thanks c-pep unless you show us you back to the old c-pep in camp.

The smart money has to be on Daunte Culpepper right now.

Of course its early and we don't know for sure about his recovery yet, so this is really premature.

What amazes me the most is the number of fans that will let those four games override what this guy has accomplished in this league.

Our O-line was its absolute worst during that stretch, the receivers weren't in sync, the whole offense was a mess. To top it off, Daunte was clearly not ready to be starting yet.

I'm sure the new coaching staff will want to work out certain players out before the draft, so they know what areas need the most attention. Hopefully, he won't dissappoint.

C pep!!!

I think Culpepper is the man until there is another QB that can challenge him.

Daunte is not the smartest QB in the league and having to learn a new playbook while coming back from poor play and injury is probably not a good sign for him.

Going with C-Pep. If he can't recover after so much time off....then we need to readdress the QB situation. Until then...C-Pep is the man!!!

You make some good points. I agreed with Saban's decison to go after DC at the time, and also with his decioson to start him those first four games, regardless of the recovery issues.
Having said all that, I'm not convinced that DC will be the QB of the future for this team. Regardless of the injury, there are other questions pertaining to DC. He is undoubtably one of the most physically gifted players int eh game. If he recovers fully, then he can do alot of things that other QBs can't do. But DC has never been a true "read" QB. He basically reads half the field on every play. Even then he doesn't always make the best decisions. Cam Cameron's offense requires the QB to be reading the entire field. I'm not sure that DC can be molded into this type of QB.
If DC isn't ready or CC decides he's not the futture, I wouldn't mind seeeing lemon take over the reigns while we develop someone else.

DC should be at home studying defenses videos so finally he could learn and be able to read them in the field, instead he is playing Madden with the kids.

He obviously will enter training camp as the starter, but it remains to be seen if he will exit in the same category, Cam will give Lemon the chance to fight for the starting spot.

who do I want starting as QB for us?

a short wishlist
1) Brady
2) P. Manning
3) Palmer...

but on our roster? Daunte all the way! that is, unless he is unhealthy.

One man has the swagger this club needs and that man is............Shane Matthews.

Personally, with Cameron coming onto the scene, I think Culpepper is in way over his head. He couldn't grasp Linehan's offense, without Linehan{one he's supposedly already familiar with}. So in my opinion, there's no way he'll be able to absorb the complexities of the offense that Cameron is ready to install....

Cameron will need a smart, decisive Qb to run his offense. Unfortunately, Culpepper just doesn't fit that description in my opinion. I think the odds of Culpepper starting for the Phinz in 2007 are extremely low right now....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

I stated C-Pep and will be commited to him. But the only one that I see that has an advantage at this point is Cleo. Cleo has been in Cams offense and knows what to expect. Once camp opens, I say let the best man win! The one that proves he can handle the offense, weather it be C-Pep, Cleo or other....let him take charge of the offense. I still think C-Pep is the man to start but I say leave it open and make everyone battle for it.
