The 6million roster bonus that is owed to DC is going to paid by the Vikings or us? I believe that only salary gets carried over when a player is traded, and the former team must pay all guaranteed money on the contract. Is that correct?

The past bonuses are accelerated onto the Vikings' 2006 cap.

The $6 million signing bonus he is owed later this month is now our responsibility, but Daunte has said he is willing to rework his contract to help the Dolphins out.

Daunte will help us with this part of his contract. I can see us only having to pay half.

At the least the bonus will be spread over the course of the contract. Probably the Phins will guarantee 5m on his deal and he'll cheapen the total by around 9-10m.

At this point it's still a great deal considering it's basically right under 8m a year.
