I was thuinking about how Saban pulled the trigger so quickly and unexpectedly on Culpepper after meeting with Brees...and one of the main reasons I think he pulled the trade was becasue Culpepper knows Linehans system.

Aren't we still running Linehan's system???

that is the upside and the advantage Culpepper had over Brees. Culpepper did very well under Linehan and once Linehan left last year Culpepper laid an egg. I truly believe he will do well in Miami, especially being that he is right back under Linehan's system. It may very well have taken Brees time to learn this system.

good point but i think a lot of culpeppers problems last year were his wr corps and no running game. And to people that say well why was johnson doing good with them. He wasn't i one game the offense there didnt put up a single point and they won, cuz the d and special teams scored 21 pts. minny's turnaround was due to improved defense

Actually that was one of the reasons why that Saban pulled the trigger. Mortensen reported yesterday that Linehan and Saban were already discussing about aquiring Daunte (before Linehan left). Linehan gave high praises about Daunte and the system that Miami runs is still Linehans.

It made good sense if they couldnt get brees.

Your right, it was the Vikings defense that started playing better when Brad Johnson was playing. Its not like he really lit it up on offense.

Imho I really believe it had alot to do with linehans system. Look at Chambers numbers. Linehans system is the long ball game.

Right when Linehan left the whole offense sputtered not just daunte. That alone should tell you alot..

All brad Johnson did was play the caretaker role. He did try and force things nor did he try and carry the team on his back. Daunte was the complete different. He was trying to do things and it wasnt working...
