Here is some perspective. Although I agree Culpepper had a bad game.... the term "bad" is relative. Here is a comparison of Frerotte's best 5 games from last year. Culpepper's bad game is comparable to Frerotte's good games.

Culpepper vs. Buf - 250 yards, 72% cmp, 1 td, 1 int, 91.9 rat

Frerotte (2005):
Week 1 - 275 yards, 66.7% cmp, 2 td, 1 int, 96.4 rat
Week 9 - 360 yards, 53.2% cmp, 2 td, 1 int, 83.6 rat
Week 11- 261 yards, 58.1% cmp, 2 td, 1 int, 93.6 rat
Week 14- 229 yards, 63.6% cmp, 2 td, 0 int, 128.8 rat
Week 16- 239 yards, 62.9% cmp, 1 td, 0 int, 92.4 rat

Culpepper wasn't the problem... Jeno James was the problem.

Problem is, Culpeppers stats come when we are 3rd and 22 and he throws a little dump off pass and the receiver runs for 16 yards 6 yards short of a first down.. The problem is he sucked hard in the first two downs missing reads, dropping balls etc.. And a resulting 3 and out..

And, Culpepper had alot of those yards in the last drive with 5 minutes left down 16 points when the bills were playing back in a prevent..

When the plays truly counted, Culpepper was absolutely horrible . It's not a stat sheet that defines a QB, but WHEN he makes his yards .. Are they crucial times that decide games ? or are they in inconsequential times ??

For Culpepper, it's all inconsequential .. It is similar to an NHL goalie.. It's not how many big saves he makes, but WHEN he makes the big saves. Like when his team is up by a goal and he comes up big when it matters most taking his team to a win..

Under adversity or pressure, Culpepper is awful and wilts under it.. He always has been, just ask Minnesota fans.

well why do you tink we have a 3rd and 22? penalties, sacks? how is that all dauntes fault? its bad coaching, bad discipline, missed blocks by the o line and the tight end

ill tell you what, why dont you keeo bashing culpepper when we win the two next games and culpepper looks good

Didn't we win most of Frerotte's good games? I'm just wondering what I'm going to see next week if he can't perform against Tennessee. I hope he gets his act together, I was looking forward to this season.

And if he sucks again I want to see you in here trying to come up with more excuses. We had better beat the dang Titans and Texans. I'm going to be miserable if we don't.

Fact is the whole team played bad against the Bills. Lets hope D.Cul brings his A+ game vs Titans. The offensive line also needs to be alot more focused on protecting their quarterback. I say at least hold the mofos rather then let them sack your QB.

That's a pretty weak and lame argument.. Miami winning two games vs the 2 worst teams in the league proves what for you ? You have to be kidding me !

So, we brought this guy in to beat the scrapheaps of the league ? LOL . We had crap QB's for that already .. Good job setting your bar so low..

yeah just hold the mofo's, I DONT CARE WHAT YOU SAY, THATS FUNNY!!

We SHOULD win the next two game: Tennessee and the Texans. That shouldn't be a major acomplishment and it certainly shouldn't be used as a barometer of success. If Daunte struggles against either of these two teams, then there are SERIOUS problems.

Culpepper's biggest problem is he has not won a game yet! Nothing else matters. Numbers do not mean anything. Wins mean everything.

Culpepper has much to prove in the next 2 games, but as SCall13 mentioned, "it should not be used for a barometer of success". What we really need is the next two wins to bolster up some confidence and momentum, regardless of the Titans and Texans lackluster ball play. The last 5 quarters of Fin Football have not shown me many signs of being any better then they are. With that said, the TN matchup this weekend will be pivotal. Should we struggle offensively, it is time to try out Harrington, regardless of what we have invested in Culpepper. It might be time to cut our losses now. Remember that we are 11 point favors, winning by 3 will prove nothing.

Go Fins!

It's not a case of just numbers. You have to put it in context. Culpepper's stats were good but he held on to the ball too long. There is a reason he was sacked 32 times in 8 games last year. He has to stop the negative plays, stop taking sacks and throw the ball away. His completion percentage will come down but at least we'll have a better shot on 3rd down than 3rd and 16 or 3rd and 22.

11 point favorites mean nothing outside of gambling. Vegas just gives that line so it will be equal betting for both teams. If we win by 3, it proves we can win. If we win by 11 it proves we can win. A win is a win, is a win. Vegas lines mean **** in regards to the final score.
