Current dolphin owner makes you appreciate huzenga

Not gonna read thread. This is ridiculous! Wayne saw this franchise do nothing for how many years? Ross has been the Owner for how long? Call me in 10 years, but at this point Ross has the nod in my mind.

I've just finished reading the majority of this thread, and basing this on the title of the thread, I think it's pretty easy to say Huizenga was the far superior owner overall. MANY times I have questioned Ross' intentions and motives for his decisions in regards to this team, I've questioned them more in his 3 years than I did in Huizenga's 13. From putting 20 million dollars of upgrades in to a **** stadium rather than just building a new one to attract fans, to proposing a water park and stupid cover over the stadium, to being an absolute whore for celebrities and media attention, the orange carpet, the minority owners, the renaming of the stadium ever year, etc. etc. Ross is simply clueless when it comes to A.) pleasing the fans (aka filling seats, aka $$$) and B.) how to create a winning culture for this football team.

Now, as far as the whole coaching debate. The way I see it, the bottom line is this: both owners are very wealthy intelligent men, who simply have two completely different mentalities about how to run this organization. For Huizenga, he was smart enough to acknowledge that generally speaking, he did not always know what was best for this team, so his approach was to do whatever it took to secure who he believed was the man best capable of making us a winner. He spent big money and gave in to whatever demands were necessary because he wanted to WIN.

Ross, on the other hand has an entirely different approach. He has a vision of his own that he thinks will create a winning team. From where I sit the debate ends right here, because if he had even the slightest clue he wouldn't have had 3 back to back losing seasons. For the sake of the argument though, I think the problem comes from the standpoint that he is a rich man, who got to that position by maintaing control, and he feels uncomfortable fully relinquishing that to any one individual. On a personal level, I can fully understand that fear, as by giving full control to someone you are providing them with the ability to lose you a lot of money, the thing is no proven coach is ever going to want to put up with an owner or GM breathing down their neck questioning every one of their decisions.

So with that, I think it's really just a matter of personal opinion on the different mentalities, for me though I would rather an owner doesn't have too many cooks in the kitchen and rolls the dice to try and make us a winner, rather than dipping their toe in the water but never fully committing.
