I would honestly say right now I would rather have McNair. I know he hasn't been the healthiest of people and shouldn't have made the pro bowl, but he did. And that should say something.... that there isn't a lot of choices at QB. And if McNair is hurt, Gus can fill the void. If you draft a rookie qb, you can't expect him to do anything for at least a few years, and we would have to give up too much to get cutler... it just doesnt seem worth it. let me know what you think

Both.

A veteran upgrade over Frerotte for the short term, plus a QB of the future would be the ideal scenario for us.

Why would having one stop us from getting the other? One is a veteran free agent and the other is a rookie for the future.

I agree with that. If they got McNair, why would that stop them from drafting Cutler if he was available at 16? This is a pointless topic.

Both but I dont think Cutler will be their at 16. So maybe McNair and Croyle?

I'd pass on McNair, and most of the other FA's out there. We can get Croyle or Omar Jacobs in the 2nd round. Cutler will be long gone before we pick even though I don't think he is a top 10 pick.

We could get them both if we tried to. I really don't see us trying hard to get either of them at all. I would look for a mid round QB and maybe another vet QB.

I'm with you. We need to upgrade the starting QB position immediately and draft for the future so both a free agent QB and rookie QB should be brought in. Whether its Cutler and McNAIR or some other combo of vet and rookie I don't care but I want two new QBS in camp when we start preparing for 2006

This is what will happen ... We're gunna pick up McNair and a rookie (possibly Cutler but I'd rather Croyle) and if all goes well the Rook can learn under him for the half of season that he's actually healthy and then he can pull a Roethlesberger when McNair goes down with his annual injury. It all makes sense now.
