Who would you take if you have a shot at both. We will be picking in the top 10 next year and very possibly the top 5. If you have Ferguson and Leinart where we are drafting who would you take. Personally I would draft D-Brick. He is one of the best LT's to come out in years. And i feel we can get a very good QB in the 2nd or 3rd round. Plus Leinart is going to want a heck of alot more money than D-Brick so I would just go LT. Give me your thoughts.

I think if we are in that position, we have to take Leinart. We have gone too many years without a real QB, and we could potentially be doing it again by waiting until later rounders to get one. Leinart could be an NFL bust, but you have to draft him if he is there.

:yeahthat:

Leinart all the way. Its not even close.

You just can not pick up franchise QBs in FA. You can not even trade for them. You could probably trade for a O. Pace, J. Ogden though, if you really wanted to. However, no one will give you a Brady, Manning, etc.. Once you have a franchise QB, you are pretty much locked into being a playoff team year after year. We'd HAVE to take that risk and get Leinart.

No doubt I'd take Ferguson. Too many questions around Leinart, and none for Ferguson. I think we've gone too long without an o-line to let D-Brick go free.

Leinart and it isnt even much of a decision. We've gone long enough w/ out a qb, time to try and get the franchise qb we need.

leinart no question....our line has done pretty good recently(props to houck)and leinart IMO could probably come in and start right away

Yeah I bet St. Louis is dying to give up Pace. Same with Oakland and Gallery. Premier LTs are not easy to find, and to put Leinart up as a franchise QB with Brady and Manning is a mistake. I don't think he throws hard enough to consider him a top QB.

For you info, they had Pace on the trading block a few years ago when he wanted a big contract extention. So there goes your theory.

Manning and Brady would NEVER be on the trading block, in their prime, like Pace was, no matter how much cash they wanted.

P.S. No matter if you agree with it or not, many scouts have Leinart rated as a franchise QB. So, I base my opinion off that, in comparing his PROJECTED value to a team.

Remember what happened to Robert Gallery?? The best tackle to come out since Bosselli. Look at him. Nothings a sure thing. Were also avg. close to 5 yards a carry. The line isnt that bad, its the qb play thats costing us.

I completely disagree with you. I think the exact opposite. Franchise LT's you can not pick up on the free market. Where as it hasn't happened yet, but Drew Brees might be available next off-season. I would persue him as if he were the greatest QB to ever play football if I were Saban and he is a Free agent next year.

D. Brees is not going to be a FA.

I didn't say you can pick up franchise LTs in FA. I said you could trade for one if you really wanted to.

You can not TRADE for P. Manning. Offer them 3 first round picks and they still wont give him up. Offer the Rams 3 first round picks for O. Pace and he is yours. In fact, when he was on the trading block, it was more like a 1st and 2nd round pick that would have landed him.

P.S. by saying you completely disagree with me, you are saying you COULD TRADE FOR A FRANCHISE QB. LOL. Yeah right, who? Brady? Manning? You really think those guys could be traded for? LTs could be traded for, no one does it becuase you can draft them easily. QBs aren't that easy to draft.

That is why I explained myself

I think that Brees won't sign the franchise tender again allowing him to hit the open market, and as good as he is I think the Chargers are more worried about the cap hit that would take place if they traded Rivers. That is why I think Brees will be a Free Agent.
