I was wondering what people in other parts of the country thought about the bears this season. Them being my second favorite team and have seen all of their games this year i was just wondering if others think that they are for real, or are not really that good.

I don't believe in the Bears honestly, they have to beat good teams for me to consider them a real playoff team. Their defense is pretty good and Kyle Orton is going to be a solid QB IMO. But this year they aren't as good as their record indicates.

They havent beaten a team at .500 yet. They arent nearly as good as people think. Its sad theyll probably go to the playoffs and deprive a more deserving team.

Forrive me, but I don't really understand how a team that wins doesn't "deserve" to go to the playoffs. Sure, they have an inexperienced QB, but they've done what it takes to win because their coaches are utilizing their talent in the best way. Maybe our team is more talented but our coaches have failed to do what it takes to win on sundays.

exactly... well said...

further, you'll be hard pressed to find a better team in the trenches, on both sides of the ball.. play makers in the secondary, 3 good RBs... a proven WR... all they really lack is an experienced QB who's confident enough to throw the deep seem ...

Orton looks to have a good future ahead of him but as of now he is a rookie and it shows. They wont win the NFC championship.

I think you meant to say that they are very good or great. They have given up only 2 rushing tds, and only 1 td in the red zone. They lead the nfl in scoring defense and give up 6 points less then any other team in the nfc.

Upon further thought i retract my statement about them not deserving a playoff spot. My comment was more direted towards my prediction they will fall and end up 9-7ish.

If that prediction comes true and some team out there is 9-7 or 10-6 that actually played good teams doesnt get in, then its a shame.

:yeahthat: I am a HUGE Bears fan, and I have to agree with sirspud, if they weren't doing well, they wouldn't be where they are now! Sure our QB isn't that great, but he seems to be doing better than any of the Dolphins Qb's right now. I am not saying anything bad about the Fins, cause they are my 2nd. favorite team, and it saddens  me to see them do so awful again this season...but dont rank on the Bears to make yourselves feel better, they are no threat to the Fins anyway. I'm glad they won against the Panthers, and I hope they make the Bucs walk the plank!! lol..:D

Yes..and those are the  heartbreaker:cry: games for me..cause I want both my teams to win, lol...I usually dont root for either in these cases. I just watch.

Coming into the season i saw the Bears as an 8-8 team with a playoff chance in a weak division IF they could stay healthy. They're defense is ridiculously strong, they have a solid running game and play in one of the toughest stadiums to play in, in the league. With the Packers out of the running and the Vikings still iffy the Bears will win the North with ease, IF they get home field in the playoffs they will be VERY dangerous because i assure you nobody wants to go to Chicago in january.

I never ruled them out as their division blows. Thomas Jones is one of my favorite players and I wish them luck
