Top247 LB Malik Bryant commits to Mario Cristobal and Miami​

A problem that once plagued the program seems to be in the rearview after Miami landed a commitment from Orlando Jones Top247 linebacker Malik Bryant on Wednesday.

After beating out Florida, Maryland, and Alabama for the nation’s No. 5 player at the position, Charlie Strong has been responsible for the Hurricanes landing the programs last two commitments and both are blue-chip players at a position Miami hasn’t particularly recruited well over the past 15 years or so.

With Bryant on board, alongside Top247 linebacker Raul Aguirre, freshman Wesley Bissainthe, and sophomore Chase Smith, Strong and defensive coordinator Kevin Steele are building out a young core of ‘backers who could help Miami win some games and lead the defense in the future.
