*** Da Canes ***

Did you watch it? It was a fight the whole way. They did not slide by. VT was a beast and made Cam Ward's game life miserable. The Canes may have difficulty against other good teams and hopefully before that test they are able to gel together more as a team after so many new players.
Watched every minute of it, but your right about facing stronger teams

Good start to conference play. They will have a few more tough opponents, GT and LOU. Maybe WF towards the end of the season. It's looking good for the Canes. They keep scoring.

Ward made some bad mistakes but the more worrisome thing was allowing 34 points on defense. I think Clemson is probably the best team in the ACC

That was quite the entertaining game last night.

I thought the VT receiver caught the ball, had it until his a$$ hit the ground, & then chaos ensued.

Oddly enough, the right calls were made IMO both on the field and by the replay team at league HQ.

The ACC said:
In a statement issued two hours after the game ended, the ACC said, "During the review process of the last play of the Virginia Tech at Miami game, it was determined that the loose ball was touched by a Miami player while he was out of bounds, which makes it an incomplete pass and immediately ends the play."

Wow! A 10:30PM game. Live college football after 2am.🙂 College GameDay is gonna be at this game! When was the last time they went to a West coast 10:30PM game? Its gonna be a VERY long day for that crew.

After having a 10:30 game like once a decade(when was the last time the Canes played this late?), its gonna be weird for it to probably be a regular occurrence since there's 2 West coast teams in the conference now. It's gotta suck for them to come over here for half of their games. Imagine if Hawaii joined the ACC😂.

This will be the first ACC conference game played on the West coast. So the Canes will be making history.

Why has Damien Martinez underperformed this year?

Answer: He hasn't had the opportunity to carry the ball as often as he should this season.

In 2023, Martinez was a lock to touch the ball 15-25 times a game as Oregon State's bell cow. Through five games this year, his high mark for touches in a game is 16, achieving that number in the victories against Florida and Virginia Tech. In the other three games, he's touched the ball three times, 12 times, and 13 times.

Miami wants to employ a rushing attack featuring Martinez. Mark Fletcher Jr., Jordan Lyle, and Chris Johnson Jr. Martinez won't be forced to carry the load with such a deep and talented RB room, and so far, he's only accounted for roughly 26 percent of Miami's rushing yards this year after recording 53 percent of Oregon State's rushing yards a year ago.

He's been very good in short yardage and has 4 TD's in 5 games

The Canes are leading the nation in 3rd down conversions as well and he gets lots of those

The thing is he's just OK from the shotgun

In I formation he gets a running start and is much more productive

Also he's had a 50 yard receiving game
