now that we are in the search for a head coach, is it 100% that a new coach wouldnt retain one of these coordinators?

rotoworld is already referring to Mike Nolan as former Dolphin DC.

Ex-Dolphins DC Mike Nolan has joined Steve Spagnuolo atop the Falcons' wish list at defensive coordinator.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution believes the Falcons think highly enough of Spags to "get into a bidding war" with the Eagles for his services. Coach Mike Smith reportedly has enough respect for Nolan from their days together in Baltimore that he'd be willing to incorporate some 3-4 elements into his defense.

saw that too. i would like to think we have an opportunity to keep them esp mike nolan.

oh, thats right. thanks...

what a shame, would have loved to have him back next year.

I get the feeling that Nolan was upset that he wasn't considered for the Head Coaching gig in Miami or wasn't named interim coach.

especially when they take his DB coach and make him the interim. This probably is the reason

Well then Nolan needs to get over it because Todd Bowles carried the "Assistant Head Coach" title. How could you possibly promote Nolan over Bowles if Bowles carries that title? Regardless of Nolan's past experience of being a head coach. You just know the media would have eaten that up and blown it out of proportion.

It was reported during the season that Nolan came right out and said that if Tony Sparano was fired, he wouldn't consider taking the head coaching job and wouldn't want to stick around. So yeah, pretty sure he's moving on.

What is crazy is that a guy like Fisher could come in with his own staff and get rid of Nolan and Daboll, but it's reported he really likes Ireland.

Daboll is still under contract and has not been released from it yet.

no one will be more upset should daboll be let go than reggie bush...i can tell ya that...cause i think dabolls the only oc in the league that would let that guy continuously carry the ball b/t the tackles

it worked this year or at least we got away with it but i doubt bush makes it thru another year next season if he's used that heavily and up the middle

I think the reason he wasn't given interim coach was because at the end of the season, it would be expected to hire him as head coach becuase he couldn't be demoted back down to DC. Ross probably wanted the opportunity if the hew head coach came in and liked nolan to keep him as DC. That's my guess on Ross's thinking there.

Nolan's contract was up and hasn't signed a new one so he is tech our former DC. We still have Daboll.
