Hi guys, how yall doing. I just wanted to stop by and get yall's opinion on a possible trade.

It does appear however, that Barber will not be included. This quote is from the Star Telegram today.

Speculation swirled this week on that topic, even including the name Marion Barber going to Miami.
In response, Jones said, "No," then added, "let me be very clear. No."
He said that rumor "came totally out of left field. I read it and laughed. Marion at running back, we feel, is one of our strengths, and we want to keep it that way."

So how would yall feel about both first rounders and a 2nd next year?

Not enough value for the first overall pick in the draft I'm afraid. Simple as that.

If Im not mistaken I think somone else on the board pointed out that the 2 1st round picks and a 2nd do not match the No. 1 overall pick in the JJ point system. Including Babrer is what made the trade viseable for Miami. Someone correct me if Im wrong.

i would wait for a better deal. like a good player and a pick. but if the boys were to include this years 2nd rd pick, id def take the deal. thats just my opinion

i love the ideal but i doubt dallas would give up a 2nd rounder if they dont i would take a 3rd and maybe carpenter or maybe a 2nd next yr

It'd take the 2 first rounders this year...at least a 3rd this year plus their 1st round pick next year imo.

Ozzy rules!!

Personally, I feel it's about 85% that this trade does not happen. Too many variables, too much territory to move, and too many ways for the deal to fall through. For us to move that far back we'd have to get good value. Also Dallas would be giving up a LOT to get a perceived upgrade at running back. But even if McFadden is a stud how much would it really improve the Boys? Maybe he will be better than Barber. but Barber was pretty darned good.

I just don't think this happens at the end of the day.

Personally I think this rumor is being floated again to try and drum up interest in the #1 pick. I don't think even Jerry Jones is dumb enough to rape and pillage his own team all for the chance to draft an unknown RB. You guys don't even need McFadden, Barber is a top 5 RB IMO and he is more than capable of handling the job. Not to mention all of the $$$ that would be invested in having both Barber and McFadden in your backfield sharing carries, neither player would be able to maximize their talent.

With that said, if you want to trade up to the #1 spot, you need to give us fair value. Our #1 has a value of 3000 points and your 2 first rounders only total 1440, so we'll need more than just your 2nd rounder next year. If Jones is set on McFadden and decides to trade Barber, we have no use for him so he would need to be sent to a third party and those picks would have to be packaged with your 2 #1's if you want to get a deal done. For example, you could trade Barber to the Texans for their #1 and #3, then turn around and send us the 3 1st rounders and the 3rd. Then you have a deal.

But like I said, this is probably all a rumor that was given new life by Parcells and his pal Mort.

What else is he going to say? Suddenly if he gets the #1 pick, and the rights to McFadden, Barber suddenly becomes less important for the Cowboys. Hence, I think IF a deal would get done, it will most likely include Barber. Of course Jones is going to speak like this in February, but things can change between now and March/April. Lets not forget Nick Saban was never going to take the Alabama job. One week later he took it.

I think a fair deal is the following:

Miami gets:
1st round pick(22)
1st round pick(28)
Marion Barber
2009 3rd round pick

Dallas gets:
1st round pick(1)

I dont see why ppl puting barber in trade scenario's. Look @ what vikings did this year. Did you forget that taylor had 800 yards ? or that he filled in when peterson went down with an injury.

I dont think jones is stupid enough to trade a top 10 back, multiple draft picks, for the rights to a young unproven rookie runningback that will command 70 million dollars. Now, keep barbar and he would give up the rest imo, because that would be an insane offense.

First - Barber is an avg back at this point. You don't game plan to stop Marion Barber! Someone said he is a top 5 RB - Please!!

This deal just may take place it will just involve other player(s). I say Canty 100x before Barber. However if we are asking for players I'd say we have 1 or 2 guys here that would know who to ask for!!

You know whats funny? If you were gonna pick a player to sign based on monetary investment, RB might be the way to go when compared with the money that is being given to O-lineman, WR, QB, CB's etc. Think about how devalued the RB position is right now - Willis McGahee went for 2 3rd rounders. and his deal was managable compared to other guys signing deals.

Well you sure as hell don't gameplan for Julius Jones, most teams would rather face Jones than Barber. Jones is no where near the same runner.

Here's something to contemplate, when the game is one the line, or the 4th quarter who is 7 yards deep in the offensive backfield? Jones?

Not bad for an average back. Or maybe our definition of average is different - Jesse Chatman = average. Do you think Marion Barber belongs in the same category?

Wow...Ummmm No.

Barber is a sensational back. He is not average by any means. I am not sure if he is top 5, but he is definitely top 10.

That being saidI don't think we are that interested in acquiring Barber simply because of the salary cap ramifications of having both him and Ronnie Brown on the same squad.
