Dallas Thomas was hurt In training camp last year

Were gonna be great this year just watch we were 8-8, I believe we improved. We had 5th most cap room.

he had the same operation as Jordan and was then stuck at LT then when that failed RT ... the guy is clearly a guard

Maybe I was not fully attentive but I can't recall much being said about this last season. Ireland seems to have had a strange fascination for drafting injured players. Dion Jordan (1st round - shoulder), Jamar Taylor (2nd round - groin) and Dallas Thomas (3rd round - shoulder) were all coming back from serious injuries and our other 3rd rounder, Will Davis was pretty obviously insufficiently physically developed and needed to build up to compete at NFL level. I can understand taking a gamble on one and having a longer time schedule for recovery but gambling on all 4 seems pretty ridiculous.
If all are fully healthy and strong, they could all be contributors. Why would Ireland gamble on all of them?
I was also surprised when the interviewer referred to Thomas as a top 50 Draft pick before the labrum injury. I didn't know that he was rated anywhere near that highly. That's up there in the Jonathan Martin 2nd round rating.

i see him as a guard because I dont see him as having the feet for speed rushers in the league, that being said can he pull?

all things considered i wouldnt head into this season with expectations for any of them, and i dont think hickey is. they were the last guy's **** up.

If this is actually true and our draft from last year is finally healed, we should have huge impact when combined with this years draft. It may mean up to 10 new starters on both sides of the ball; or at least major playing time Even though I can't understand why one would draft so many injured players in one draft, but it should pay off this year.

Kind of helps explain it for me at least a little bit now. I thought maybe the moving him around messed with his head or something. I'm here in Knoxville and us Vols fans all thought of him as a monster on our Oline at either Tackle or Guard, but he seemed best at guard. He was great here even did real well against teams like Alabama. I think a lot of us here were surprised he couldn't get playing time on the phin's Oline last year. I'm not giving up on him yet.

I knew he was hurt. He said in the conference call that he wouldn't be able to take part in OTAs. And much like with Jordan, coming off a serious shoulder injury when you need to get stronger is not good for a rookie year.

Still whoever thought he could play LT is a dumbass.

I'd be happy if just any one of our draft picks from last year contributed.
