Has anyone else noticed that he has been pretty competent this season? He has played in what, 4 games this year? And he has never looked a problem. He has always looks like a liability in the offseason, but fair play to Thomas, he has been plugged into the lineup multiple times this year and has looked decent each time.

Will never be a star, but we might have a useful guard in him afterall.

Time to put Pouncey at C
Thomas at Rg
Turner at Lg
Play the ol of the future

I know the team really turned around in the bills game when they took Shelley out and put Dallas in. That is when we started moving the ball in the 2nd half. Dallas is not great in space although he does get out into space quickly. He just can't seem to make good contact on LBs in space, but he is a solid pass blocker, he just seems to put his head down right before he makes contact in the running game, and that makes him miss the perfect contact location.

Dallas moves well enough to be a good player, he just has to keep learning. Down on the our own GL I did see him completely whiff on a block in the run game that caused the RB to get hit in the backfield. But other than that he played quite well.

Does Turner even have a pulse? What's going on with him, Ebola? Has his ailment been disclosed?

he is healthy. We all knew turner had a lot of work to do with the position change

Physically he's ready, but he's so raw in terms of technique that they are taking him slowly. Remember the camp reports, one play he would pancake guys like Cam Wake or Randy Starks, and the next AJ Francis and Anthony Johnson are blowing by him. Just has to get that technique down

Also remember he battled turf toe the first month which is not easy to come back from.

I have said since day one that I think Turner will translate better into a OT than a OG. He just doesn't naturally play with the leverage that you need to play OG. He is so quick that even players like Wake would have trouble getting around him at OT, and he is pretty good at stopping the bull rush from the OT spot as well. He has a good punch and timing for OT but just doesn't seem to be as good at OG. I think forcing him to play guard is a mistake and he will become a good OT some where. I hope it is here but if they continue to try and make him a OG he might end up some where else, which would be a shame.

Not enough credit has been given to Thomas coming in and holding down LG after Colledge's struggles. Things tightened up after he came into the game.

give him a go at guard before you decide what his best position is lol

Some players also translate the game better than practice. When you simply react instead of think things change.

Dallas Thomas should stay at LG, its were he will succeed. Not RG, Not RT. He played LT and is more comfortable on the left. After he came in last game we started playing better. Give him snaps there and he will improve.

Turner has said that he would like to play guard and thinks he can be good at it.

Personally, I think that developing him at guard is a great thing, because he will end up w. the skills to be one of those valuable swing-type offensive linemen that can kick in or out depending on need -- and do a credible job at either OT or guard.

AND, that turf toe thing -- that can become a serious injury for NFL players. It needs to be very slowly approached or it could end up costing a season.
