Dallas trade with Miami??

Charlie Frye has been said to be over rated and have huge bust potential.

Just read something interesting in ESPN magazine yesterday. Frye has the hand size of a 12 year old. He is one of only 2 combine QBs with a span of less than 9 inches. The average was 9.6 inches and Frye is at 8.7, which makes one wonder how much more prone to fumbling will he be?

Barron? So maybe this whole "promise" made with McIntosh was a scheme to get other teams to think we are going for a RB or QB. The announcers on the show were right, u can get urself a FRANCHISE QB or RB early, or u can get one just as good in the later rounds. But most "experts" think Jammal Brown and Khalif Barnes are better than Alex Barron. Did u hear about that Center from UNC who benches 615 POUNDS??? wow we could surely use his strength!

Where did you read that Jason Brown benches 615? I've read he benches 475 which is still excellent. Though the area where he really stands out is with a squat of 775. That's means a lot of power in his lower unit. I like Jason Brown and would not mind a bit if we take him in the 3rd or 4th.

i was watching an NFL Draft Countdown Special today from 1-2pm and the guy said that DALLAS might trade their 11th and 20th pick in the 1st round for Miami's 2nd pick.

Another announcer said that Adrian McPherson is an issue, and that Miami has been spending LOTS of time with Charlie Frye. I dont know, but it looks like Miami is gonna skip on Alex Smith. If Miami trades with anyone, id want Tampa's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. But if Dallas trades their 11th and 20th...their wont be Rodgers or Smith, Brown/Benson/Cadillac, or Edwards/Williams. So what do we do with the 11th and 20th? Even tho we have good linebackers, we may pick Derrick Johnson with that pick...or we may pick Jammal Brown or Khalif Barnes at LT. I just hope we get that 2nd round pick so we dont miss out on Charlie Frye. The announcer also made a good statement saying that HISTORICALLY, the guys taken in the 2ND ROUND have done better than the guys taken in the 1st round. IMO probably because the top players taken go to the worst teams.

What r ur thoughts on the Dallas trade?

To acquire the add'l picks would be great. That is how Saban says he wants to build the team up. Picking at #12, we could still have a shot at D. Johnson (LB), Travis Johnson (DL), S. Merriman (LB/DE), E. Shazor (SS) or even Troy Williamson (WR)...so there are options and then there is the 20th pick too...That could be another trade down or even a QB. Gives us some interesting possiblilities....

11. Shawne Merriman OLB/DE Maryland
20. Thomas Davis FS/SS Georgia

That would fill all our defensive needs and then grab a qb in the later rounds like 3rd or 4th and then grab runningback with the trade to indy or seattle

The Cowboys are in the same situation as us.They are not SB contenders and they need starters as in plural.I dont think they will trade up.I think they will stick with their two first rounders and get two starters.

Tuna won't bow out unless he does something big. I can't see him leaving Dallas with his tail between his legs!

He is tired of coaching again and not getting along with Jerry Jones. He's done after this season.

If we end up with two first round picks, I see us trading one of them for a few more 2nd and 3rd round picks. Quantity should be the theme of this draft. There's a lot of good players that could be had in the 2nd through 4th rounds. I'd like to see us with 5-6 picks in those rounds.

At 11 Id take Caddy if he is still there if not Merriman is a good pick or Troy Williamson. I wouldnt mind Davis at 20, Id also look at Jammal Brown, Marcus Spears and Mark Clayton at 20 depending of course what we do with 11. So many possibilities, I just cant wait for the damn draft

Parcells is very well known for liking veteran guys and NOT trusting rookies. I can't see him trading both picks to move up to #2 and put the franchise's fate in the hands of a rookie.

Exactly! Though it could very well be a good thing for us, I don't see it happening. Parcells won't be trading up in my honest opinion.

I've never seen anyone rate Shazor higher than Davis.
