Dan Conner at 2a

I was listening to moving the chains...they said that because Dan Conner is a LB he would lose out on a lot tie breakers between players and has the potential to slide to the bottom of the first, early second...I would love this guy...he is a pro bowl ILB...however, I have these questions:

1) Would he fit the 3/4,4/3 system we would run? and
2) If we took C. Long or V. Gholston, does it make sense to use two top picks with our draft?

I think Chris Long and Dan Conner in our dressing room would absolutely turn it on its head...we would have to cornerstones to lead us for the next ten years...

Any thoughts?

Is a very good Linebacker and I would be very happy to see him fall into the Dolphins hands.

But as etown8 said, the chances of that are very slim

Yes the Giants do need LB help, but they also need help in the secondary. I think they are leaning towards taking Reggie Smith right now.

As you can see in my sig and mock draft, I am a huge Dan Connor fan. My ideal draft has us taking Jake Long and Dan Connor, which in my opinion is very possible.

Connor would be a nice fit at WILB in our 3-4.

I dont think that they need secondary help because they didnt loose anyone of value. There is a gapping hole in the linebacker position for the Giants. I would rather take another lineman or draft the best corner with 2A. This is why we need to select J long with our first so we can take BPA. If we draft C Long we will reach for OT or get one with 2B that cant even compete with J Long. Teams are built in the trenches and dline is taken care lets work on Oline

The only knock I have heard about Connor is he doesn't have the speed to stay with TE's who he will need to cover....Zach also had problems in this area dealing with bigger and faster TE's, but if Connor was half the player Zach was for us, it would be a nice pickup.

Torbor is an OLB in their system, not a MLB. They'd be going after Jerod Mayo if they were going after a linebacker.

Also, they didn't lose Kiwanuka... he's going on year 3 of his rookie contract, and he's a defensive end. They lose Kawika Mitchell, who is an OLB as well.

They need OLB help very badly, to say the least. The only young guy they have available on their roster is DeOssie, and possibly moving Kiwanuka back to linebacker ( which hasn't proven to be that successful compared to his DE production )

That will be a real tough call if we have not drafted an OT by that time because we almsot have to in the 1st 2 picks to get a quality guy!

no i dont like him he was overhyped coming out of penn state (lbu) and is too small, and yes i no all about zach being small, but for billy p it doesnt matter he will be too small for our 3-4. plus we have other needs

This is a perfect example why we need to go Jake Long . . . what if Connor, or Cason or Groves falls to us at 32 . . . I love having options . . . if we take chris Long . . . we pretty much would have to pass on a guy like Connor or Cason if available . . . for possibly Carl Nicks? wtf?

Your right. Somebody always drops and there is a good chance one of those guys will drop. Teams like the Chiefs, Broncos, Panthers, Bears, Texans, and Steelers all have their eyes on OL in the first round. There should be a big OL run in the 12-20 range.

You have to figure out just how important the positions are to you.

Depending on how the FO has them graded, I honestly have to agree with you. Grab the best LT prospect, then hope that one of your two positions of need falls ( Cason/Groves/Connor )

Groves would be a superb pickup with #32, as would Cason. Im not sold on Connor being a superior player to Curtis Lofton just yet, so he's not the value pick of #32 that Id prefer.
