After watching the fins offense this year and last year I think the big problem right now is who is calling the plays on offense. It just seems like a lot of defenses have figured out the wildcat. So we are not going to sneak up on anyone like we did last year. Most of our plays with the exception of the Ricky Williams touchdown look old.

I think that Dan Henning is old and not really into trying new things. Also he likes to through the ball way too much. With two backs like Ricky and Ronnie its clear that are strong point should be running the ball. During the Atlanta game there were times when the running game looked good but we just didn't commit to it that much.

I remember a few games last year when we had the ball 1st and goal inside the redzone and they threw the ball 3 straight times. It would be great if Miami would just scrap the WildCat and play power football.

Any how thats just my take on what I see. However I am sure Parcells will not fire Henning. Thats the problem with a lot of coaches - they are too loyal to their assistant coaches even when they suck! An example is Shula keeping his defensive coordinator - Tom Ovadotti!

Sure, let's bring in another OC so the entire offense has to learn an entirely different scheme. Jason Campbell loves to do that, maybe he can be our new QB.

This is worse than start Henne thread. We ran what 4 Wildcat plays, my god man get a grip, its only a single game week one.

I am patiently waiting for the Sparano and Parcells must go thread next. Hey why don't we cut Y. Bell why we are at it too for missing a tackle.

Well if you listen to some former Dolphin players on WQAM.com they are saying the same thing. So I guess they don't know anything either - huh?

But what the heck I bet there are still some guys that think John Beck was the next Marino!

Though the idea is absurd enough to just be laughed away, I'll actually engage in a serious debate about this idea.

Three teams fired their offensive coordinators just before the season started. All three teams lost in Week 1, and their offenses scored an average of 18.3 points this weekend. Not exactly a ringing endorsement for the idea that the answer to offensive troubles is to fire your OC.

Because they are former players that means they aren't wrong?

Promote David Lee

If he was a candidate, that wouldn't be a bad thing IMO.

Last year the guy was a genius now after one game (with 4 turn overs) the guy needs to hit the bricks. This is the reason it's so hard to be a Fin fan. People talk to fans like you and just assume we are all mildly retarded.

Wait a minute CK...While I totally agree with your thoughts...I believe 18 points a game is alot more than the Dolphins acquired...and the Dolphins LOST their game. I believe Henning needs to go back to the basics...run the darn football. What the hell do we have 4 running backs on the roster for? When you only have 19 running plays by running back and you have Ricky and Ronnie as those running backs...you aren't using them correctly. The Dolphins should be running at least 35 times a game...imho.

Exactly.. Run the damn ball. Run it down their throats. Don't be afraid to throw it to Ginn.. Be aggressive with the playcalling. Run plays allows your Oline to play aggressively. If Pennington needs time to get the ball to Ginn bring in a dbl TE set, give max protection and let Ginn fly.

I don't mind Ginn flying...but I sure would love to see him go 10 yds and make a catch and get yds after that catch...too.

Do you guys listen to nothing???? Pennington himself told you and Sparano in his presser said...there were a lot of play dsigned to go to ginn, for several reason it didn't happen. The problem is not the playcalls so much as lack of execution.

If White completes that pass to Ginn, it's a genious call, it was incomplete, so it was a terrible call. People tend to forget that these guys have been doing this for a while. Henning has forgotten more about fotball than most of us will ever know.

So what are you saying...that the Dolphins don't want to run? They rather waste passes to Ginn?
