Dan Marino on almost not being in Ace Ventura

Nice find, Such a great movie! It's sad that all these years later, that's the last time anyone has seen the Dolphins in the Super Bowl...
During the day and at home no less.
I’m fairly certain that film is the reason I’m a Miami Dolphins fan. I was born and raised in the Canadian prairies. Hockey was the sport everyone was obsessed with growing up. But eventually I got into NFL football.
I loved that movie. And so when it came time to pick a favourite NFL team, I went with the Miami Dolphins. I did not know another Dolphins fan where I lived (still don’t), no one in my family cheered for them. The only thing I can trace it back to is Ace Ventura.
That was 2007. The very first year I began cheering for this team we went 1-15. I would have been about 15 years old. I haven’t missed a game since.
