I know as a Bills fan many might think this is disrespect. But it is not it is something interesting to debate on during this month until FA starts. I seen it on our board and it is leading to instersting football talk.

If you were building your own franchise, Had the shot at picking your fanchise QB Would it be Dan Marino or Payton Manning or someone else and why?

As I said no disrespect Just something for an interesting debate.

That being said I would have to choose Marino. (I chose Kelly on our site)
Reasons:

1. First Dan played outside (yes in warm MIA) but still outside that is how football should be played.

2. Dan did it for years with no viable threat on the ground

3. I also think Dan made his WR were as Indy has very good ones.

That my opinion from a Bills Fan. Man I cannot wait until it is Buffalo and MIA batteling for the AFCE again sick of the Patsy's

ill tell you after the superbowl

I would have to say that for the most part, they are of the same mold. Big, tough. Both can read defenses and adjust at the line. Both have a quick release and are true generals on the field. They both do relatively well w/ pressure and hardly ever get sacked.

I have to agree lets see in the Super Bowl. If Peyton lights it up, then he has something extra special. Basically though, either qb would make your team instant competitors.

By the way I will always have Dan Marino as my dream team QB, but i am a proud Miami homer.

That is true I cant remember how many times I was sick of Dans quick release to avoid Bruce and Bennett, that would always make me sick.

i would say marino, i dnt lik manning nvr did nd nvr will, honestly think he is very ovr rated

I'd pick Manning...Marino's too old now. :goof:

LOL...

You are talking about my favorite all time Pro QB vs my favorite all time College QB (Go Vols!).

I'd be ecstatic with either one. Of course, Marino's salary was never as insane as Manning's. I remember when Marino signed the 5 year, 25 million contract and I thought that was amazing. Now, that's probably less than what your average starting QB gets.

Bingo!

Very good post, totally agree.

Would you rather have sex with Selma Hyack or Jessica Alba?

I call these questions, "high quality problems".

Mannings salary is sickening.
Marino made salary sacrifises for his team.
Tom Brady does the same with the pats (compared to manning)

Manning and Marino both were the essence of what a quarterback should be, however Manning couldn't dream of becoming half the man Marino was his rookie season.

Don't you mean Dan's second season?
