Does anyone know how far Marino could throw a ball. I am not interested in mere speculation. I am curios to see stats or a quote or something that says this info. I know he (obviously ) had astrong arm. to throw in the style he did , you need to have a strong arm. But to step back and just heave a football, there were many guys who could throw further. the furthest I ever saw Marino throw was like 63 yards (QB Challenge). In 1992, I saw him throw a 50yard frozen rope to duper at the end the first half of a MNF game against the Browns. The ball wa sbatted away (like I said, it traveled 49 yards in the air but it had almost a flat trajectory).
I know Favre could throw one about 80 yards in the air (same with testeverde) and Sonny Jurgensen could throw 50 yards BEHIND HIS BACK. Former Bears back-up rudy Bukich could throw a football 95 yards consistently and once threw one a full 100 yards (verified by Mike Ditka, a player on that Bears team). Also, does anyone know how far Pennington can heave a ball. He has a weak arm (by NFL standards) but I am curios to know how far he can throw one.

Finally does anyone know marino's shoulder pad size (he wore riddell Power PM19 pads throughout the latter part of his career) or helmet size (generally a Riddell VSR helmet with a Schutt JOP-SW mask)?

i remember during the QB competitions he normally would get around 70-72 every year, he would be 2nd or 3rd with others like testaverde winning, if you want the exact numbers look for the numbers from the QB competitions they hold but from what i remmeber it was around 70

I remember a little differently, finally my topic of strength comes up. Marino did not have one of the bigger arms in the league, he could throw the ball about 65 yards. He has said, arm strength is overrated, accuracy, and velocity are the important things. I believe Farve could throw it about 72-74 yds, and as far as I know the record on the QB challenge was 80 yds by Testaverde.

Trivia: Who on the Dolphins through the years had the strongest arm Dan Marino had ever saw?

no more guesses? I am the king of totally useless information.

That answer, my friend, is Mark Duper. I do know Dupe could throw one about 75-80 yards (marino himself said this)

I thought I heard former Eagle WR Harold Carmichael could throw 100 yards. That being said, I'll guess Ferrell Edmunds.

Tony Martin?

During the interview, when he was on with Sid, and OJ, he said McDuffie had the strongest arm he had ever seen, he called in unbelievable, I guess he threw it about 85 yds in the air!

Anymore totally useless information needed, you know where to find me.

I would rather have a QB that could throw a high velocity accurate ball 65 yards than a lazy floater that goes 80 and gets batted or picked. A la Favre.
