The guy that broke Dan Marino's combined passing and rushing record is none other than DAUNTE CULPEPPER! Check for your self!!!!

too bad he had to run! now if he could just throw the ball before he has to run Lmao!

Yeah, let me tell you. Culpepper ran so much, yet he managed to throw for over 3000 yards in many of his seasons. Such a running QB. :rolleyes2

If you add in yards lost on being sacked "which actually counts against a team" then Marino had more yards than Culpepper.

lol you cant compare the two...marino was more of a stay in the pocket passer

Comparing CP to Dan is laughable. Here's a link to all of Dan's records. CP doesn't hold a candle to him:

NO kidding. I made the mistake of reading just three posts past yours and Im already extremely angry. STOP TRYING TO SUGGEST THAT CULPEPPER IS ANYTHING CLOSE TO MARINO. Im sick of it. I think there are actually people on here that like Culpepper better than Marino and claim to be dolphins fans. :shakeno:

SInce when did being sacked have to do with mobility? Well How about this, CUlpepper ran for more yards in his first nfl game than Marino did his entire career. Ouch so much for that idea.

This would matter if they played Running Back.

Whats laughable is that you wont acknowledge the fact! Daunte not Dan owns the "untouchable record"

Whats laughable is using Culpepper and untouchable in the same sentence. Unless your talking of course about playing the worst 4 games at QB in phins history.

All that was said is.

Daunte has a record.

It used to be Dans.

He is on our roster.

how many total pro bowls did marino make?

Who cares about pro bowls. Thats nothing more than a gloryfied hype fest. 1/3 of the vote is done by fans. Fans have a way of thinking guys are good because they are seen on sportscenter, made a couple of highlites, been on madden covers, and do stupid obnoxious dances when they actually make a positive play.

How bout the relevant stuff.

Footwork - Marino by a far. Im not talking about running speed. Im talking about the skill of footwork. Tom Brady happens to be the best at it of all current players. This is the most important of the QB skill sets.

Arm strength - Good try Daunte but Dan has you here. At least in velocity which is what counts. Daunte can sling it though, I have never denied this fact. At least he used to be able to. I didnt see him throw too many BB's last year.

Vision - Marino again by a big margin.

Leadership - Marino

Release - Marino by a margin wider than the Pacific.

Toughness - Marino. He's from Pittsburgh.

Accuracy - Marino again in a not close competition. Please dont give me the completion percentages as I have explained at least 3 times they are two different things. Id say this is right there with footwork as the most important skill for a QB.

Ability to rise up in the clutch - Marino

Character - Marino. I doubt Claire has ever had to hear about Dan out a boat party with hookers. If you want to (and I hope you dont) you can bring in the alleged drug use but, dont try and convince me Daunte's nose has always been clean.(pun intended).

Game management - Marino. Right off the bat, the clock play.

Winning - Marino

Let me know if you can come up with any particular asset that matters when it comes to being an employee of a football team and directly to playing the position of QB where Daunte beats Dan. Dont come with statistics. Im looking for things that matter on the field not on paper. Besides do you really want to come to Dan with statistical arguments. You can use any QB and lose that battle. Once again though Dan has those stats because he was the best player ever. He isnt the best player ever because of the stats.

 Hes always running huh. Daunte was busy running for his life for that 50 yard first half or whatever it was that gave him more yards rushing than Dan had in his career. While he was doing that Dan was throwing the ball either before the pass rush got to him or he had sidestepped the rush and proceded to fire downfield for a score. Remaining upright and givin em a lil fist pump. Daunte was gettin his role on and his wig split. Enjoy those rushing yards, sacks, fumbles, and brutal hits Daunte. Ive got a game to win here. If we need rushing I will hand it to whatever bum theyve put behind me at RB. Meantime if we need to score they will let me drop back and do damage.
