Active Roster
With the new GM search, Dan Marino's name has been brought up due to the success of John Elway in Denver. I disagree with installing Marino straight into the GM role, but I strongly believe that he should have some role within this organisation, but I wouldn't just stop with Marino.
Ross is all about creating a 'buzz' with celebrity stakes in the club etc, but what would get the fans more excited would be by creating an identity of having 'legends' contributing to the future success of the Dolphins. Can you imagine the pride and identity of being a Fin fan if one day Marino, much like Elway, worked towards and became GM. Zach Thomas working towards becoming a DC, with Jaylor Taylor a DE coach, or even better Zach as HC and Taylor DC.
All this starts with a long term plan, but I would love the idea of creating an 'in-house' coaching tree or in house personnel progression, where former players become scouts, coaches etc where they progress to become future GM's and HC's of the Miami Dolphins. IMO it would create a loyalty within the club, but also a sense of pride and passion for fans, wanting them to succeed rather than hoping they fail so that the next man can take his place.
