I feel like Dan the man should be our VP or GM of football operation just like Elway of Denver. I think he can get jobs done.

Sounds like a plan. Though, what qualifications does Dan have other than being the most popular player in the franchise?

Listen, I loved Dan Marino the NFL Quarterback...but...what has he done that makes you believe he is remotely ready for a position as this or would be any good at it? Being a great NFL player doesn't guarantee that you would be great as a coach or in an administrative position.

The role you describe involves a person ready and willing to work countless hours. That's not Marino.

I have always thought this. But, then I always think to myself, "You can't teach Dan Marino".

Why? Have you seen the quality of his scouting reports? How is he at evaluating o linemen? What sort of kicker does he prefer?

You should post more often.

Not that I have any idea what you say, I just like your sig.

PROBLEM: elway is a fantastic business man and built one of the nations top auto dealership chains and has invested smartly in other profitable ventures.

DAN MARINO: Just the opposite. Bankruptcy's, bad investments, love child thats costing him AND clair a small fortune. And the 2nd biggest no-no? The big baddy of all investing rules? NEVER put all or most of your fortune in a stock or investment, EVER!!

GOLDEN BOY thought he was immune. He wasnt and a couple years back he lost his fortune in an all in investment move. Bankruptcy followed.

I love danny the football player and he IS the best qb ever, not just passer, but best qb. Give him a 1400yd rb and top 5 defense like the superbowl teams of his era, 5 superbowls for danny. Anyhow, I dont care for dan the person to much at all. His love child fiasco, all the rumours of him being a conceded prick, all the tv people who have said he is a jerk and hard to work with, womanizer, etc..... .

This is all pointing at a narcicist, maybe even a sociopath and karma is a bitch and follows these types around exacting it's revenge as needed. I dont want marinos karma and bad vibes effecting the dolphins. His bad karma will effect his decision making and as he has already found out, other than throwing a football, fortune has been fleeting for dan marino. His only real sustained success were from his god given, best arm the nfl has ever seen. Outside of that...., disaster.

As much as i despise Mr. Ed Elway, it was all about sports rivalry but he has shown to be carrying good karma and doing good deeds in business and at home. Success follows those types.

I really dont want dan marino tied to the teams success. PR stuff, working under supervision of someone with better karma, fine. But someone who is in a position that effects if the team will have success or failure best be handled by someone good fortune shines on.

I was interested to hear that Dan is heavily involved in the assessment of the players about to be drafted. The 60 odd players interviewed at the Combine in Indianapolis and Dan Marino participated in every interview. Unsure precisely what he is doing but it's good to hear that he's directly involved.

If he is indeed interested in being involved in the process...fantastic, I would prefer that he not be involved in any decision making process...the dart throwing at a wall of pictures has served us well over the years.

This plan was thought of over ten years ago when Dan Marino accepted an upper management positon with the Dolphins. He resigned about a month after he accepted.

Maybe he wants to get back into it, but to think that Marino is Elway 2.0 when it comes to player personnel, especially with Tannenbaum and Grier already in the fold...probably shouldn't get your hopes up

NFL talent doesn't always translate into front office talent; some of the greatest football minds weren't really that great at the game themselves.

Like a few others have said, Dan isn't exactly the exec type. No thanks.
