Should we draft Sepulveda to replace Donnie Jones?...maybe with a 6th rounder?

Background

Daniel Sepulveda’s older brother, Stephen Sepulveda, was a linebacker for the Baylor Bears. Daniel attended Highland Park High School in Dallas, Texas where he played football and ran track. Daniel played linebacker on the football team, helping the team to a 22-3 record his final two seasons at Highland Park. Daniel earned second team academic all-state honors as a senior. After not receiving a scholarship offer, Daniel walked on to the Baylor football team in 2002, sitting out the season as a redshirt. He was named to the Big Twelve Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Having not punted since junior high school, Daniel earned the team’s starting punter job in 2003. He punted 87 times as a freshman with an average of 43.1 yards per punt and a long of 62 yards. 23 of his punts pinned opponents inside their own 20 yard line. He set a school record for punts over 50 yards with 26 on the year. He was named second team all-Big Twelve for his play as a freshman. As a sophomore he punted 62 times for an average of 45.9 yards with a long of 69 yards. He pinned opponents inside their own 20 yard line 26 times. He was named first team all-Big Twelve and third team all-America at the conclusion of the season. He also received the Ray Guy award for being the nation’s best punter. As a junior, Sepulveda punted 62 times for an average of 46.1 yards with a long of 78 yards. He pinned opponents inside their own 20 yard line 13 times. He was named first team all-Big Twelve and second team all-America for his performance as a junior. He was named to the Big Twelve Commissioner’s honor roll for the third consecutive year. Daniel tore his right (non-kicking) ACL during a pickup basketball game Easter weekend. He had surgery to repair in April. Despite the injury, he was able to return for his senior season, punting 66 times for a school record 46.4 yard average. He tied his career long with a 78 yard punt. He was named first team all-Big Twelve and received the Ray Guy award for the second time in three years.

do u really wanna spend a 6th rounder on a punter?? i agree with those people who say punters can be found on the streets. even Matt Turk apparently may go off somewhere...why dont we bring him back?? if we get a punter in the draft...i sure hope its an undrafted free agent

the guy is projected as a 4th to 5th rounder. I guess he was a walk-on linebacker, and still has that linebacker mentality, which you gotta like. He can kick it 70 something yards too.

Why use a 6th rounder for a punter when you have one (a good one i might add) that all you are getting for is a 7th? Not trying to be a dick but how does that make sense?

Not sure on that one either. I agree we need a good punter to replace Jones, but as far as using a draft choice, eh, I'm iffy at best on that.

The kid looks like a great talent, so I guess it would depend on which choice and who else was available at the time, but as of this moment in time, I'd say no.
