Darlington: People in the Dolphins organization think Tua mailed it in

I am not making excuses for Tua, but no QB has consistently succeeded in Miami since Marino. Why bother when the GM and HC cannot build and coach a winning team? He needs to go, but any QB we draft could easily go down the same path. It’s up to our new staff to change how the team operates and prevent it from happening again.

and there you go. it certainly seemed that way!
further, am not buying the sob story about the pressure of being the franchise QB. you want the $50mm plus per year contract, that is the deal. you are meant to be the guy, and meant to be able to deal with and thrive under the pressure.
tua signed up for it.

I don't believe Tua mailed it in, he just played like he did.

Skills that are declining rapidly tend to do just that...

Sam Darnold must be a special person because everyone in sports media wrote him off.And early in the season Darnold had bad game throwed 3 maybe4 picks and lossed. And they try to bait his linebacker in to dish on Darnold. And he set that reporter straight. And set without ? Hes the right guy to lead them. And that galvanized that team they never look back.I hope Sully draft players that love football and have each other's backs. When they go through bumps in the road. You win as a team its not a one man show.If Tua did quit he's can take the money. And get all of it put it in a stack.Turn it side ways and shove it right up his candy Ass!

Ernest Jones taking up for Sam Darnold week 10.If you don't like my quarterback then **** you classic

Maybe idk doesn’t make sense to me atleast the whole mailed it in after he got paid theory. He played hard and pretty well in 2024 and that was after being paid.

I think a more plausible scenario is he just grew tired of the dysfunction. He’s been dropping hints for a while that he wasn’t happy with pretty much the preparation of the team and you can see him constantly putting guys in place as if coaching staff didn’t do their jobs during the week to get the basics down.

I think it’s very telling that slowik kept none of the offensive personal even guys like the rb and te coach who are well respected around the league. He even booted the oline coach who pretty much gave him his start early in his career. That to me shows me things we not okay in that locker room. No idea what side slowik was on but it’s apparent he wanted to distant himself from it which is why he returned no one.

I mean if he did mail it in then no excuse either way just don’t think it’s money related and like most fans more had to do with Miami’s dysfunction as a franchise.
