Jeff Darlington reports on "Around The League" on NFL Network that the players have been told by Philbin that Tannehill will start against the Raiders. I would say if things don't go good for Ryan this week Matt Moore will start against GB. That will give him the Bye week to get more reps with starters until the GB game.

I think it's pretty retarded that Philbin even needs to say who the starting QB is, right now. No brainer.

I agree but Joe is the one who opened up that can of worms....unnecessarily in my opinion.

Not sure why Philbin wanted to play games with the media. Everyone knew Tannehill was going to start.

What Id really like to hear from Philbin is, we`ve got to run the ball more, we dont have a QB on this roster that can win for us while being in the top 5 in pass attempts... Meanwhile our yards per rushing attempts IS top 5 in the ****ing league... Bush league ****ing coaching!

Bill Polian believes Ryan Tannehill is "not real confident" with @MiamiDolphins o-line yet, translating to him rushing through progressions

What happens if we win 9-6 in another crappy offensive showing?

exactly what i figured

I just looked through a bunch of teams that you would expect to run a lot and we actually run the ball at a higher percentage than all of them, including:

NYJ
NYG
Patriots
Buffalo
Seattle
Pittsburgh
Baltimore
Houston
Minnesota
Tampa

Without looking at all the teams with good-great QBs I think its pretty safe to say we running it at a higher percentage than every team in the league right now. We are at 42% and the Jets are second at 41.8%. And Geno Smith, along with most QBs rushes more than Tannehill on top of that. If Tannehill would scramble once in a while we would lead the league in rushing percentage by a wide margin.

Any other myths that need dispelling?

(BTW, its pretty obvious to all of us why the Jets suck, and it should be equally obvious why we suck.)

Cool! Now, how about we run it on 2 and 1/3 and 1. Especially, when we are averaging 7.1 yards a pop! Hows that sound?

Dolphins players give Ryan Tannehill vote of confidence

“There is no doubt in my mind that Ryan [Tannehill] is our guy," Dolphins tight end Charles Clay told the Sun-Sentinel. "It is still early."
This isn’t time for anyone to panic," Clay said. "It is still a lot of football left. A lot of things we can do to help him out. He’s our guy. When we turn this thing around he’ll be the guy to do it.”

This can go two ways. Ryan says screw and goes balls to the wall slinging the rock and running all over. Or he is nervous to make a mistake that will get him pulled thus holding ball longer and getting sacked or late on throws. I for one hope he says fu** it and starts gun slinging....

Then, all of the posters on here that think Tannehill is great, will say they told you so. Tannehill is the franchise. I believe that Maurice Jones Drew will be back this week, that could be trouble for the Dolphins. If Lazor, continues to force the passing game this week, as he did against the chiefs, it could get ugly. Let Tannehill run a couple times early, get the jitters out and he could be fine, he just seems shell shocked still, and not comfortable in the pocket. I prefer Moore over Tannehill, but I will be very happy if Tannehill goes in and plays lights out against oakland. From what my eyes tell me, something aint jiving with the dolphins, PERIOD. Does Joe Philbin inspire anybody that posts here? I just don't feel inspired by him, I just feel like he should be accountant or something. I want to fall asleep watching him coach during the game. Am I the only one that feels that way? Am I missing something?
