In a previous thread(http://www.finheaven.com/boardvb2/showthread.php?t=143360), I had cited similarities between our very own Daunte Culpepper and the Eagles' Donovan McNabb, believing they are conference counterparts now that Daunte Culpepper is now in the AFC. One poster in the thread requested a statistical comparison. As promised, I will provide that, and much more. Let's begin:
Completion Percentages
Daunte Culpepper: 1,678/2,607 64.4%
Donovan McNabb: 1,718/2,943 58.4%
One thing must be noted: Daunte Culpepper never attempted a pass in his first season while Donovan McNabb has played in twelve games.
Yards
DC: 20,162 yards
DM: 19,433 yards
They are more definitely about even in this category. While both quarterbacks have the tendency of going deep, Donvan McNabb throws more short-to midrange passes then Culpepper.
Interceptions
DC: 86
DM: 66
While both quarterbacks has seen better days last year, Donovan McNabb had a more commendable season, keeping his passer rating above 80. Also, Culpepper never had a single digit interception season with the exception of his first season, where he didn't attempt one throw.
Longest Throw:
DC: 82
DM: 91
All I have to say is, DAMN!!!
Rushing Yards:
DC: 2,476
DM: 2,514
While both athletes have tremendous running ability, they would much rather sit back in the pocket and complete the pass. However, both have rushed over 2,000 yards in their careers.
