I think people forget that this is the same guy that put up amazing numbers a couple of years of ago. His career numbers (http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/133263) are incredible. There is no way that the qb is the problem here. After he threw 39 TDs a guarantee that everyone would have been ecstatic if they heard that he was coming to miami. The problem is the same problem weve had for the last few years, the horrific o line that cant run block or pass block. The problems are LJ shelton and bennie anderson not daunte culpepper.

DC has looked awfully rusty.....that is somewhat understandable, but I think our Oline has a lot to do with it. LJ sucks! I would like to see our Oline improve and then bring back DC when he's complelety healthy....unless of course JH is lighting it up???!!!idk

the problem is that he is not healthy, and he wanted to work his butt off to start the season to justify being traded here, but he wasnt ready. it would have worked if this oline was, say, as good as new englands. but with no time to throw the ball and adjusting to an injury he wasnt ready. no question that when he gets healthy he is or guy. for now joey will do, but id rather have cleo lemon playing. joey is not a good quarterback. ive seen all of his pro games, and the problem in detroit was a great deal joey harrington

That was 2 seasons ago. If we're going to keep looking at what he did in the past then prepare for a major dissapointment. The guy is not healthy, his injury last season was brutal, and he may not even take a snap in a Miami uniform again this season. You actually expect this guy to be in pro bowl form in 2007? You're nuts. This guy will have to go through progressions again, and I don't know if Nick Saban wants another slow start in the '07 season. That's the reality.

Nick Saban said it last year that it would be the final year we play 16 games, and we're down 1-4, mostly because of Daunte and his slow reads/follow through.

And no, the offensive line didn't magically improve yesterday. There was atleast 5-6 times that I thought Joey Harrington would have been layed out if he held the ball just a second longer, but he picked up the pressure and got rid of the ball on a receiver hands or out of play.

Saban's Mistake

Unfortunately, the fact that Saban is making this move now proves that he made a major mistake in starting Culpepper from Day 1. No one would have argued if Harrington started against Pittsburgh to give Culpepper more time to heal. Now, Saban has alienated Culpepper by seeming to not appreciate the hard work that Culpepper did all off-season, and seeming to blame Culpepper for the team's poor play (with comments like "we became a team today"). He risks destroying any credibility he has with a player that was acquired to move this franchise forward over the next 4-6 years.

You're kidding, right?

But the fact that Saban has corrected the "mistake" speaks volumes that he gets it. Saban just showed another reason why he's so highly regarded. Half the coaches in the league wouldve kept Daunte in because they didnt want the media questioning their decision making. Saban took a chance starting Daunte, saw that it wasnt working and adjusted. It says alot about Saban's character. The team comes first.

A lot of Culpepper's numbers are inflated, ask any Minnesota fan how many big games he won for them. Then ask them how many he lost for them. I can't make that comparison with Harrington because he's never been in a big game. And, I will say this, not even Tom Brady could have won in Detroit. That franchise is becoming an absolute laughing stock. Probably, a long with the Raiders, the two worst teams in the league, bar none. And they both will be for years and years.

Geezus! Noone forgot about his numbers from a couple years ago, it's just that those don't freakin matter!!! All that matters is what the guy can do now. Favre, Garcia and Warner all had great numbers a few years ago too. Do I want them under center for the Phins???? HECK NO. Daunte is no longer the QB he used to be. Get over it.
