Now the word from the Miami Dolphins is that ex-Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper has made great strides in rehabilitating his injured knee and definitely will be ready to play in the season opener.

Not sure of his source - but sounds like excellent news to me!

My thoughts exactly. The staff is being careful about that, but the players are all letting it be known and the media if finally starting to pick up on it. Intrestingly, Saban has put the muzzle on the team very well in the past, but doesn't seem to be doing it in this regard.

Joey actually had a really good game the last time he played the Steelers. I hope DC is healthy and ready, but if not, I don't think Joey would not be a bad choice to start. I think Saban would primarily have him handing the ball off to RB, and throwing it when chances come up. I am sure Joey will get most of the snaps in the preseason, along with Cleo Lemon, so I think Joey should know the system pretty well by then.
