From what I am reading and hearing (which may not be the whole story, of course) it sounds like Daunte is being unbelievably selfish in sulking over his benching. Especially given the resounding unselfish support Joey has publicly given Daunte every time fans booed Daunte or chanted for Joey to be put into the game. How does Daunte spell team? M-e. He repays Joey by sulking like a child, pouting to the media and refusing to talk, blaming the coach.

Yes, Daunte, the coach does make the decisions around here. And they are in the best interests of the team, not that you care about that part. What a surprise that is. And you should accept your coaches decisions, the way Joey accepts his role as a back up without a giant side-dish of ego like you're toting around.

Of course, we can;t expect much more than puerile, foot stompng behaviour from the knuckle head who has a *terrible* season before blowing his knee apart, then proceeds to demand more money from his employer. Earth to Daunte: in the real world NO ONE asks for a raise after performing like garbage AND blowing their knee apart when their living depends on their knees. That is a remarkably dumb thing to do.

Well, not surprisingly, less than a year ofter having arguments with new coach Brad Childress (busy winning in Minnesota without Daunte) Daunte is enjoying his new playmate Nick Saban and arguing with him.

Hey, I have an idea, Daunte... why doesn't Nick just move out of his office and let YOU coach the team. Heck, you have done such a wonderful job at the Quarterback position, you OUGHT to demand the promotion, right? Isn't that how Daunte-logic works?

So now, with Daunte sulking and Kevin Carter (a smart man, and a player union rep) worrying that this could fracture the locker room, does Daunte decide to be a good teammate and not rock the boat? Oh no. The Me train is barrelling full steam with Daunte at the helm, and poor Daunte isn't being allowed to have his way at the expense of the Dolphins season. This *is* still Wayne Huizenga's business, and a rather large investment at that. Losses equal lost revenues in advertising, in getting nationally televised games, in merchandising, ticket sales and more. So no, Daunte, you getting to have it all your way is NOT the most important thing to this franchise. I don't care how great the arm, if your attitude is rotten you don't belong here. The losing doesn't bother me nearly as much as your incredibly arrogant selfishness.

Get over yourself, or get the h**l out of Miami. :fire:

p.s. - I love you.

I think people are reading too much into DC not talking to the press.

And his screaming match with Nick at Friday's practice is obviously something you'd find boring too.

You may be right that people are exagerrating him not talking to the press (as fans we usually do overreact and only get some of the information instead of the whole story). But seriously, after how well Joey has handled supporting Daunte this year, Daunte should be right up front of the media scrum saying "Whatever helps the team, I'm behind coach and Joey." Oh, wait, only Joey is that selfless and I guess I shouldn't like that about a player. I shouldn't hope to see Daunte, our supposed leader, exhibit MORE of those good qualities than the backups.

Daunte was probably told to keeep his yap shut by nick!:shakeno:

I just read about the argument between Saban and Dante and i don't think it had anything to do with the Dante being selfish. He's competitor and of course he's going react negatively toward being benched in favor of Harrington. I am glad it happened though because he need to heal before he starts playing football at a high level.

Daunte better impress next week or else there will be his name on a section of the bench

saban created that monster by starting him the 1st 4 games! saban and his staff of 1000's should have known he wasn't ready to play "his style of quarterbacking". So Daunte took over 20 sacks thru 4 games but, in his mind, he was improving against some of the worst teams in the nfl. daunte wants to play as do all players. This falls on the narrow, hunched shoulders of saban

Sorry but if a power struggle develops between Saban and Culpepper( I guess that's the fear of the original poster) Culpepper is gone

The only thing Culpepper has done that is remarkable since he's been here is rehab like a fiend and heal fast and even that shows how selfish he is since his primary reasons for doing it are personal gain. A) So he can wear his "Daunte Culpepper, NFL Quarterback" t-shirts again and B) to show the fans in Minnesota that they are wrong about him.

Wait I thought he was held out because of a "bruised shoulder"? Well now Saban has a reason to sit him out next week, he'll probably be listed as "doubtful" with a bruised ego. :D

Does anyone have a link to the story ? i gotta say when they showed c-pep yesterday he looked piss off !

I don't believe that Daunte is being selfish, he believes that the team has the best chance to win with him under center...the man wants to win football games.

Vikings are Winning with-out HIM

Brees won again this week :shakeno: :boohoo: Dam you saban and them @ss doctors

Nice post, at this point I rather abandon the Daunte fiasco trade him somewhere if anyone will take him or just plain cut the guy. He is a project and you dont pay projects 50 million dollars to play football for you.
