Daunte May be Gone Indefinitely....

Coach Saban on when Daunte can come back:

"When he's playing and he can move laterally and quickly, not just in straight-ahead running, but in lateral movements and quick, explosive movements," Saban said when asked what he needs to see before he'd return Culpepper to the starting role. "That's what we'll be looking for."

With the severity of that knee injury, and with the above expectations, he may never play for us again.:shakeno:

He will be back next because I know there is no way he is coming back this year and it will turn out being better for him in the long run.

Don't know if it will be better for him in the long run. Health wise, of course. But NFL level? Not sure. When he comes back next year, that will mean 3 years out of his pro bowl level, that will mean another year starting all over again, going through progressions, that will mean another slow start to start the season. And guess what, he will be 30-31 then.

I am not a doctor or a trainer, but I know if he is healthy enough to play at full speed, Saban will not hesitate to put him back in.

i know you are just so happy

Uh, no, not really, I'm really not slanted either way between JH or DC, I just thought that statement by Saban was curious, seeing as how Daunte still WALKS with a limp.

oh im sorry then i thought by the way you titled it and put the exclamation point after it

i thought it mean you were happy

sorry about that

Daunte needs to be put in NOW. It is the only way he can get back into the game, and our season is shot anyway. We need to prepare him for next year, and the only way we can do that is to play him.

Whether we all like it or not, it seemed like everytime their was a former QB doing a Miami game they would rip Daunte apart for not planting that right leg with authority, or not dropping back quickly enough. The man is not healthy and it sucks considering he worked so hard to get back. His only chance was to change his playing style and it turned out to be disasterous. We should all get used to seeing Joey Harrington. Unless he totally implodes or gets hurt we will see him 11 more times this year. If the team is successful there will be no doubt about it.

Well then why the Freak didn he put him on the bench sooner? It makes no sense unless Wayne was pushing him to use Culpepper all this time. It makes Saban look like he is clueless just like Wanstache!

Daunte has special ability but I don't think putting him behind that line will help him in any way. He would probly continue to take quite a beating making his full recovery even more difficult. That doesen't do the team or him any good.

let him rest and get 100%. Maybe next year he comes back and lights up the scoreboard like he has done in the past.

He is most effective when he can run it and he just cant run all that well at this point.

for once i agree with you, i said this during the preseason that daunte needed more time

good post

Frankly I think him sitting out wouldn't be as bad as most people think. Give him his rest get him 100% by next season. Right now Joey didn't look too bad he made come good plays and seemed to run the offense well. He had a few mistakes but u can't expect prefection. Think toward the future and dont worry about the past. There will be a superbowl win in the dolphins near future.

Sitting him won't cure his personality, like What we seen Sunday is enough for me not to ever want Culpepper to start. He was sulking, looked angry, never helped with Harrington or the QB's coach during the game. Never even talked with anyone. To me this is unexcusable. I understand the competitive nature but that was like a spoiled kid tantrum. Shame on him for that. Between this and the Love boat, I truely question Culpeppers charactor.
