All over the boards I've been seeing people mad about us ending up with Culpepper and not Brees. Brees hurt his arm, Culpepper hurt his knee, Brees's arm may never be the same, he could come back and end up like Chad Pennington. Culpeppers injury was bad, but he says he's making good progress and I believe him, the worst thing that would happen is that he'll come back and have to be a pocket passer and not rush it anymore, big deal, Brees could come back with no arm strength which we need in this offence.

If Culpepper wasn't going to be good Saban would have kept our 2nd round pick.

I for one am jumping for joy, I havn't been this happy about us trading for somone since we got Ricky Williams (and don't say, "look how that ended up" because we had a terrible coach back then and Ricky has mental issues to deal with, Culpepper seems like a smart guy and is very excited about playing for a team.

Playoffs this year baby!!!!:dolphins:

Finally someone who gets it. Daunte was the better choice ALL ALONG

It's easier to throw the ball with a sore knee, than a sore throwing shoulder, Culpepper is the guy I have wanted on the Dolphins for years.:eek:

Amen, we have a QB who is a legitamite MVP canidate almost every year, what has Brees done? 2 good seasons with the Chargers who have a better running back and line to help him than the Vikings do, all Culpepper had was Moss, him and Moss were the whole team! I believe Chambers will be as big a threat as Moss was years ago and we have an up and comming supporting cast for those 2, i expect us to be big time Super Bowl contenders in a few years.:dolphins:

Here's how I see it...

Daunte's knee : McGahee's knee :: Brees' arm : Pennington's arm

If one were to base a decision soley based on these comparisons, it's plain as day that Daunte is the better option.

dude dauntes leg dosn't matter as much either, msgahee is a running back and has 2 use his knee a lot, daunte just needs to drop back 3 steps lol

I agree with you 99.9%. However, mobility is a significant part of Daunte's game, so I'd like for him to be able to use that knee with the same level of success as Willis.

He really is... I would rather take a knee injury then a shoulder... Plus, he is a beast! AND he can run the ball! Having a QB of his size and strength is much better then a smaller guy who isn't that fast and may not be able to throw the ball again...

I agree guys. I wont lie. I wanted Brees, but after really thinking about it Im glad we went with DC. His arm is still strong, I just hope he gets back some of his amazing mobility. Nothing ever against DC, Im very pumped. But I trust Nick, and in the end I think he made the right move. We now have our franchise QB!! Go number 8!!

A few years? If this team gets Arrington or Peterson they are as good as any team in the league. In that scenario they will focus on the secondary and O-line in the draft to shore up any deficiencies.
If DC comes back at 80% he will be more mobile than 90% of the QB's in the league.
