I have been reading alot of posts on this forum, and I'm sick of everyone saying that biggest mistake was not signing "Brees" instead of CPep. Now I'm not sure how stupid you guys are, but lets go back. You have QB's on the market, both have had significant injuries, which would you rather gamble on, the: One with the knee injury" or the one the injury to to his "throwing" shoulder. It was just pure common sense trade for Cpep.. Nobody didn't expect "Brees" to have the type of year he had. Not even the "Saints" he basically got a 1 year deal, where the saints could pick up the 2nd year option. (even the saints were not dumb) Scenario didn't play out how Miami wanted it, but stop saying how CPep was a mistake, all miami did was make a safe choice. So stop with CPep bashing.. Just so you know Im sure if Daunte goes elsewhere I promise you he will come back and kill us.. Peace>>

See this is exactly what I'm talking about, no common sense at all. Do you throw with your "Arm" or your "Legs"..:err::err::err:

First off, you just burned everyone that wants to read your thread so why would your opinions be of any use to anyone else? That's just plain stupidity there. However, it's kind of a moot point now since it is in the past. Have to look toward the future now.

Cmon man, the guy had one good season, Drew Brees was up and coming, Daunte's game always had the question mark if Moss had anything to do with his success, Drew Brees was more accurate no matter who was catching the ball. Always said no to DC, and trust me I hope the guy makes me eat all my words.

no, common sense would have told you not to take either one, which was my choice, you had a capable QB in Ferroette and that second round pick could have been used to position yourself for Lienart or Cutler.

Your leg is what gives your arm strength to throw the ball. It's all part of the mechanics of throwing a ball.

And we all witnessed Daunte having a problem planting his foot on the ground in 2006.

That train of thought would lead us to "Saban never tried to get a legit QB, when Brees was out there."

I agree with the original poster totally.

WOW. I dont know where to start. Let me take a shot. Someone else can probably do this better but here goes.

1) Im not sure how stupid you are but lets got back.. You have Qb's on the market. One has always played well and come off a playoff season. The other just played 5 or 6 games that looked like a start to one of the worst seasons for a QB in the history of the NFL, until fortunately for Minn. he got injured. Following that they were able to play the "backup" who proved to be much better and helped the team actually compete the rest of the season.

2) One was a solid character guy with no known blemishes on that. The other was just involved in a not-so private night on a boat involving things that someone of strong character would probably not do if he were married.

3) One and only one of them had a history of taking sacks, having near the top fumble marks for QB's, and never hesitated to throw a pick or two. Has had one phenomenal "statistical" year and a couple strong ones in about 6 seasons. One is a smart pocket passer that gets the ball out strong and accurate to open receivers. One isnt pocket savy and makes poor decisions.

This is enough for now I guess.

Common sense has nothing to do with it, its hind sight. :shakeno:

THANK YOU
Why is this SOOO hard for people to understand. Mechanics!!:tantrum: :fire: :shakeno:

I never understood that stupid argument either. If you dont think you use your legs to throw then sit down in the yard with your legs straight in front of you and see how well you throw it. Your legs are used for every aspect of football or basically any athletic sport(maybe not wheelchair basketball). Hey wait, maybe Daunte can start a wheelchair football league.

To follow up my last statement let me say I dont feel the "injury" matters other than it makes it easier to lose a guy who couldnt play anyway. The injury may have saved us from more losses. Minnesota was lucky he got injured when he did.

Slow minded QB's need their legs to buy extra time so that they have a chance to use their arm.
