I knew he was'nt ready,i knew the team knew he was'nt ready, but that man showed more heart than all of this team combined,i loved hearing him talk in his interviews,he was so proud to be our quarterback, showed such courage and conviction, the man was on a mission, you can tell he really wants to be here and that makes me feel good as a fan.

I would never doubt a man with that kind of talent combined with that much desire, you can talk as much garbage as you want on this thread but i tell you what, i am one fan who appreciates his passion to be a miami dolphin,

Go Ahead bash my opinion, the audacity of some of you to doubt a world class athlete the was at the pinnacle of his game a very short time ago, no way am i going to say anything bad about a man that has that kind of determination.

He was'nt the best leader back in minnesota, but i have seen the look in his eyes and man am i grateful he's going to be on our side,i hope most of you feel the same and if you don't i hope you like crow...

I totally agree man. Once this man is healthy, he will be a beast. I thought he was healthy until he played a game. I feel kinda bad for him too because he sounded so excited and now half of the Miami fans are asking for his head.:shakeno:

I won't be one to bash you.
In fact it's in everyone's interest on this site that Culpepper recovers and shows he's still capable of playing at a high level.

Having said that, I don't think it's audacious of anyone to doubt whether he'll ever regain his form or not. There are some very real concerns dealing with his knee and the weaknesses in his game that were magnified by his limited mobility.

I'm not one of the posters claiming he's done based on 4 games after an injury nor am I one that is willing to just assume he'll overcome his problems and become a lock all pro again.

Best case scenario for this team is that Culpepper comes back later in the season so they can get him back on the field and reassess his future. If they go into next year with Culpepper still a question mark it causes additional problems in our personnel plan and leaves a big concern at QB for yet another year.

On another note, I don't buy your viewpoint that he's showed more heart than anyone on the team. There are guys on the team playing with heart. Welker being the biggest IMO. Harrington, the other QB has played with a lot of heart as well. Heart and spirit is one part of the game and one part only.

daunte culppeper has not givin us any reason to justify bashing him,,the man was a great, great quarterback for 6 years there's no denying that, now some people will say ohh but he was throwing to rany moss, whatever how feeble can you get,joe montana was throwing to jerry rice.
I don't want to get off track on why i started this thread,i just admire him for want ing to be our starting quarterback so bad especially seeing how the rest of this team lacks that kind of team spirit

How did you reach the conclusion he was a great, great quarterback for 6 years? He had 3 good years, 1 average year and 2 terrible years. He started his career 11-2 in 2000, but closed the season 0-3 and then lost 41-0 to the Giants in the playoffs. Since the Vikings 11-2 start (a team that included Moss, Carter, R. Smith, two Pro Bowl OL in Birk and Stringer...also had Steussie) in 2000 his record as a starting QB is 28-43 since. How does this translate into a great, great quarterback for 6 years? Did you ever wonder why there weren't any bitter Viking fans logging onto finheaven when he got traded?

Wait til he is healthy, it will be on then!!!!!!

Reno, the knock I always see you bringing up on Daunte is his record. Well my friend, the record isn't solely the quarterbacks fault. I'm pretty sure it's a team game and we are the Miami Dolphins, not the Daunte Culpeppers.

As for the thread, I agree. I really do love his admiration and willingness to put himself through hell for this team. He really wants to win and will do whatever it takes. That being said, you could also view this situation where as Daunte was being selfish. Perhaps he didn't want Joey to come in, perform, and eventually take the job. Now I don't believe that is the case, but I have to think Daunte knew he wasn't ready to go.

How did i come to that conclusion, well i'll tell, because when we played him and the vikings i remember being afraid for our team,he was unbelievable on the field,he handled our defense like they were high school players, watching him in other games, listening how other professional players respected him,the fact that he went to multiple pro bowls, should i continue??

yeahh!! thats what i'am talking about,,FURIOUS DESIRE MIXED WITH UNQUESTIONED TALENT EQUALS DAUNTE CULPPEPER,there is not another quarterback in the world that has more to prove then this man.. yo reno how do you like your crow???

In fact daunte and joey have showed a lot of pride for the uniform . I´m very very happy with them both .
I liked the fire that harrington showed trying to score even when the odds were so against . he even pushed a GB linemen who was takin his time to get in position for the next play when the clock was under a min to go . he reminded me of marino getting angry and doing whatever it takes to win .

You are perceptive. That is exactly my knock on Daunte. I don't really care about his personal stats. I care about Miami winning, making the playoffs, and winning the SB. I agree that losing is not solely on the QB, but good QBs know how to win. The QB is a position of leadership and the position most responsible for wins-losses. IMO if Marino, Brady, Manning, Montana, Aikman, Young, Elway, etc...(the list goes on and on) had the talent around them that Daunte did there is "NO" way IMO they would end up with losing records.

Based on what I have seen Daunte lacks the decision-making needed to guide a team to a SB, so why would I root for him to be the starting QB for my favorite team. I don't owe him any loyalty...he has 4 distasterous games played for the Dolphins. I would much rather have a QB that doesn't put up big numbers but has the brains to lead Miami to the playoffs / SB than Daunte puting up big numbers but not having the leadership to lead the Dolphins to a winning record.

Daunte being able to put up big numbers is even questionable at this point. The past two years are the only two he hasn't been surrounded with an outstanding supporting cast and he has been an absolute "train wreck." He has thrown 8 TD and 15 int., 52 sacks, and 8 fumbles while leading his teams to 3-8 record. As much as I hate to admit it, Miami does not have the type of talent to carry Daunte and cover up his weaknesses like the Vikings did.

I agree, joey has shown some class and i would'nt mind him being our backup next year but if he gets a better offer than i wish him well,,i thought he was going to be a little better than he has but i'am not dissappointed in him
