The most important person for the Dolphins future entered the back of the press box before the start of Sunday's era-ending loss. He talked briefly with a couple of writers. He traded distant greetings as defensive coordinator Mike Nolan moved down the hall to the coaches' booth.

Carl Peterson then assured one thing before leaving to watch the Titanic sink a little more.

Peterson, Ross's good friend and former Kansas City general manager, becomes that man now. All the proper people will say all the proper things inside the Dolphins about odds, hope, determination and fighting the good fight.

But you know this regime is done. I know it. Bill Parcells knows it from his cozy ESPN studio. The Dolphins he assembled are 0-3 on merit after Sunday. It showed there's a rebuilding job coming up to rival the one he attempted.

Just do it already. There is no reason to retain Sparano at this point. The odds of the playoffs now are under 3%. LEts fire him and start another rebuild.

i just dread stephen ross. i dont feel like he will make the right move. hes going to chase a name and im agrad we will "rebuilding" every 3 years for a very long time.
 
Chiefs had some pretty good years with him, especially early on. Won 13 games 3 times. Dolphins haven't won 12 or more games since 1990. However, Chiefs never won a SB...may be hungry to build a SB team.

Don't love him, don't hate him. We'll see. He probably will get it.
 
IF Carl Peterson was any GREAT GM....why has he had NO job since he got Fired.....how many Years back now??????
 
I don't think he will be the GM, I think he will fill the void Parcells left and will become the VP of football operations, then he will hire a head coach and GM, peterson brought cowher into the league and placed the call to cowher last year about coming back and coaching.
 
Honestly, if he is in an advisor role, sure why not. The Chiefs had some really good years under him and he was in charge there for almost 2 decades. Now that doesn't mean I want him as a GM as the Chiefs drafts really fell apart towards the end of his regime. Of course, he is the one that drafted Glenn Dorsey, Brandon Flowers, Branden Albert, Tamba Hali, Jamaal Charles, Brandon Carr, Derrick Johnson, Jared Allen, Dwayne Bowe, Larry Johnson.... you know what? I'll just stop I'm disproving my point lol.

In all seriousness, he's a good football mind and really isn't as stubborn as Parcells. Teams just go through cycles and it was time for a change in KC.

I think he is being used as an advisor right now. I think he will be the one that finally convinces Ross to can these clowns. How he is used after that is to be seen.
 
not sold on him as a GM.... bring in cower and give him the power if he needs/wants it and go from there. I hate the fact that we will be rebuilding for another 2-3 years and will probably loss alot of good players cuz they dont fit the "mold" that the new guy wants. oh well another long wait to see us get a playoff spot
