Dave Hyde On The Dolphins DNA

I couldn’t believe he passed the ball from the shotgun on 3rd AND 4th and 1. Achane runs it from the 9 to the 8, then gets stuffed on 2nd and goal and then McYips panics and has to sell out for the pass. Horrible.

Don’t forget that Tyreek and Jonnu were in the sidelines too… it was Waddle, Ingold, Smythe, and Julian Hill running routes on that 4th and 1. We even had 3 timeouts remaining. Brilliant!

Edit - Not sure how many losses against winning teams McD has had but we beat the Bills & Ravens early in 2022, and then the Cowboys in 2023 so it’s probably closer to 3-14 to be fair.

Miami is 5-13 vs teams with a winning record. That ranks 20th since 2022 only 6 teams have a winning record vs winning teams. Eagles, Bills, 49ers, Cowboys, Ravens, and Chiefs. Of those 6 teams the Chiefs, bills, 49ers, and Eagles are top 10 in the fewest points given up to teams with a winning record.

I say all that to say this. Chris Grier has no idea to wtf he is doing and should be fired ASAP and take Mike McDaniel with you. I like McDaniel but maybe that quirky personality just doesn't fit with guys who don't mind running full speed into other guys,

The sad thing is we still have a ton of holes to fill. I wish we could start over! We never seem to get ahead. Instead of taking the best player available in the draft or one that could make a huge impact, Grier will probably have to draft for need again this year. Considering the Tua situation we are stuck with, it would be nice if we went QB so we have a developmental guy behind him who has potential, but I am guessing Grier will go DB. Honestly, I can't buy into what Grier is doing. We are stuck in a perpetual loop of mediocrity. It's like Ground Hog Day, except Ross hasn't figured out how to break free. There is no legitimate hope of us going to the playoffs and making some real noise. It's the same ole, same ole BS. He takes the fun out of being a Dolphin fan!

And yet the team hasn't quit on McDaniel
They havnt quit on themselves. Which means they have banded together and the inmates are running the asylum.

They know mcd isn't the answer and Thursday they banded together to overcome the sideline. If we all see the bumbling ineptitude of mcd and staff imagine what those players see every day.

The "soft" label was leveled at the players through the world wide media, an ex fin leveled that at the PLAYERS, not the coach. Then our brilliant qb after flogging low hanging fruit on sunday decides he will slay the narrative in ice cold green bay.

Players were embarrassed and chose to make a personal stand. Had ZERO to do with any let's get one for coach" nonsense. You don't set the universe record for penalties with devout loyalty for the coach(s).

The players realized the narrative was true and made that stand for shear pride NOT for McClueless.

If that POS Grier is still employed and making the pick we are Fuked so it won’t matter. Until he is gone we will continue this rinse and repeat like the past 20+ years. You have to build from the inside out.

They should have run Mostert on 2nd, 3rd and possibly 4th down. He has more power than Achane and would have provided more push to get into the endzone. If you are going to run Achane, you need to spread the defense out. Don't bunch everything all up and get cute with misdirection.

Grier shouldn’t have been the GM to begin with but yes, he should be gone and quick

players on the team love Mike but is it for the right or wrong reasons?.......he's one of the guys instead of being their HC......he ran a summer camp instead of TC.......every day you have a long list of players not practicing and it shows on game day. You have to wonder if they love Mike cause they get to do whatever they want

Nah, Achane doesn’t fumble. Hes earned being #1
That guy scratches, claws and bites for every single inch on that field behind a line that offers him no lanes

Who is the leader of this defense, who sets the tone and holds guys accountable? Is it a 38 year old D lineman or is there a void here?
On the offense Tua says all the right things but when you run into soft tackling safeties and still end up concussed it doesn’t project toughness.
Then you have a HC who is definitely not a hard nosed football guy along with a GM who can’t draft and you end up with a product like this Miami team. One that has been entertaining to watch against mediocre to bad teams but can not compete against the best teams.

Once again, if a team takes on the personality of its coach, and its head coach's personality is only slightly different from Pee Wee Herman's, how can the team possibly be tough?

The team will be the opposite of tough, and this one has been throughout the McDaniel era.

And THAT should be the barometer of how good this team really is...they're 20th best...which also means 13th worst. IDGAF about having the #1 offense in yards, points, whatever...I value performance in tough games over all that BS, and the last 2 years, being 1-11 against good teams, HAS to be at least tied for worst in the league.

That's who they are.
